hexegon over our north pole??
k guys i came over this on another forum. can somone into this sci-fi stuff explain it to me
Okay, we discovered this last night and so many people are just writing it off as a satellite glitch. Cool. Everyone's entitled to their opinions, that's fine. But I think it's important everyone just sees this and takes it into consideration. http://showmescifi.com/2007/03/27/saturns-...red-by-cassini/ Earth (I JUST took this): ![]() Saturn: ![]() ![]() Open up google earth for yourself, turn on the cloud layer. Compare it to environment canada weather radar to prove that it's current cloud coverage. Now why does it not go away? I even took the time to measure the angle on said wierd shape, and it's 60 degrees, the exterior angle of a hexagon: ![]() ![]() http://www.ul.ie/~cahird/polyhedronmode/hexagon.htm What do I think this is? I have no f**king clue. All I know is it's there.. and it's STILL there. If you're with me on this, click here and/or here, otherwise, pretend you didn't read this and save me the headache of argument. I think this is the thread where everyone starts to label me as crazy. BRING IT.
k i didnt post this so dont bring the hate on me. discuss

exactly.. photos (even satelite ones) are flat... in that type of modeler you are applying them to a sphere.. and they need to be stitched together some how. Its easier to take one shot directly above the north pole and then 'banana' them together.

Google does a really good job of bringing the Earth to consumers with maps and directions. Google, however, is not 100% correct. That's all this shows.

There is a mothership above the north pole. It is cloaked so there is some distortion that appears to be a 6 sided geometric pattern. Now that we know this, they will invade in 25 Gwemf days. I don't know how long that is in earth days.

Well the pictures of Saturn are more compelling to me than any of the Earth pictures; simply because I've seen pictures of the North pole before that aren't so dramatically cut. However, from a more scientific perspective; I suppose it's possible that the Coriolis effect and jet stream patterns could at some point cause the visible atmosphere at the pole of a planet to resemble a hexagon. The Coriolis effect is long and complicated to explain accurately, if you really want to understand it (if you don't already) Wikipedia has a good long article on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corioli...in_meteorology .
But the basic gist of it is that all fluid things in the Northern hemisphere will turn to the right relative to its source (ocean currents, winds, pressure systems). All fluid things in the Southern Hemisphere will turn to the left, assuming you are looking at a side view of the Earth as represented on a flat surface. If you switch that view to looking directly onto the North pole; the pressure system closest to the pole turns into a small circle and circles the pole because of the Coriolis Effect. But because of the rest of the systems pushing on it from the lower latitudes, and turning into it, I imagine at some point it's possible they could all be pushing on it in such a way to make it resemble a hexagon. And I know nothing of the atmosphere on Saturn but perhaps the gases and the pressure systems of the atmosphere are so constructed that they allow for a more regular representation of the shape than here on Earth, where because of the convoluted-ness of our pressure systems which change so frequently, it would be more of a coincidence if that image were captured in full. Kind of a stretch, but it's the only explanation that comes immediately to mind.
