We don't randomly close topics... there is thought that goes into this... WE are responsible for health of the site. Why do you think there are so many people that love Camaro5? Believe me...I will NEVER randomly close something just because... Preventing things (because we've been doing this for years now...) is something we must try to do.

I am extremely happy the Camaro is coming back. I'm happy for everyone who is thrilled with the SS. I am even happy for those who think the V6 version is good enough for them, but I am very disappointed that this is the end of the avaliable models.

Do you REALLY think this is the end of the high hp models??? AFTERMARKET, my friend! Just wait until SEMA. There will be four cars there and you are going to see some GREAT stuff....just around the corner too...November. It isn't the end. Might be all that GM has to offer. But, I bet you will be able to get a high hp Camaro from specific dealers.

U can't tell me the that everyone drinking the GM koolaid is happy, maybe they r. Every other forum I am on has the their own respective groups of people, those who love the new vehicle, those who hate, and those who want to change certain aspects of it. Those respective groups r not present here. I only want to know y?

Who said there would not be a super fast Camaro? GM might only be making two models...but that DOES NOT MEAN that there aren't OTHER companies that can put out something with a blower on top!!!

I would bet money that there will be a company out there who will make them....just like back in the day (even though they didn't have blowers on dealership/aftermarket cars back then).

On the on topic discussions the topics about the Camaro, I think the moderators do a great job. I will admit I'm not a car guy. I saw the Camaro in Transformers a few years back and I said I got to have it. I never like previous generations of Camaro. I have learned so much about the car. It is a honor to feel apart of the Camaro family even more so when I order on Monday.

However, I find that some of moderators close threads on off-topic discussions a little quick on people who disagree with them no matter how respectfully they make their post and I think thats too bad, cause it cuts off productive conversations

I was talking about the comment pertaining to wanting super fast camaro or wanting a moniker.

Blah Blah Blah… I’m super pissed there is no “TOP DOG” “Z28” or what ever GM is going to call it. Why, because I want one and was willing to dish out the big bucks for one at launch (Nothing over MSRP mind you). I’m sure down the road, one is going to show up just like with the Vette and do I dare say it, mu mu mu mu mustang. There are plenty of people in this community that feel the same way and have expressed there opinions. Most have been adults about it and “let it go” because they know right now, there is nothing they can do about.

You ‘theory ship” is sinking, due to all the holes…

I personally do not care about the z28 name. I completely understand the history, and fully respect anyone who needs the z28 to be happy. I am not that person however. I mearly want the Camaro to smoke every other car on the road. This is the only reason I am here. I don't, and will not settle on anything about this car. My hope is GM will make the car I dream of, just like it has already for so many here. Yes, I will continue to express my disappointment until we get a Camaro super car, or they officially say they have bailed on the project.

Once again, BZZZZZZZZZZZZZ wrong. GM used the GT500 performance numbers as a bench mark… And from what I was told by a “little birdie” at Indy, GT500 owners are going to be pissed when a STOCK, yes I said STOCK SS shows them what real performance is… Quit being a Negative Nancy, Nancy…

Just to clarify - you are disappointed that the SS may not be as fast as something that is 20K more expensive?

No, I'm disappointed that the SS is the highest model I can buy. If I buy the SS I'm going to loose the the gt 500.

I mean this as truly a question of just trying to understand and is in no way meant as a dig or anything like that. How would the Fired! post have prevented the site from being "around and as productive as it is"? Are there outside forces that can step in and drop fines or suspensions or something like that on the forum or the Mods themselves? Could GM have filed some sort of defamation suit since they were being accused of being responsible for someone losing their job?

For one the GT 500 is done by an upfitter Shelby just as the 4th gen SS was done by SLP, not factory. The SS was never meant to compete with the GT 500, however it will with some mods.

I have never seen were the top dog call it Z28 or whatever is NEVER going to come out.

This site is not owned, ran nor does it have any ties to GM. If you think Scott is the only one from GM that visits these sites you are dead wrong. GM has people that do that for a living. It's called the legal department. Their sole purpose in life is to find things like this.
