I'm just curious about the hatred toward "ricers". Has anyone here had the chance to sit and drive an Evo, Supra, or Skyline like they are meant to be driven. They are pretty bad ass cars. Don't get me wrong, I love my Camaro, and would never dream of trading it in for the proverbial "ricer". But they are far from bad quality cars. If anyone has ever watched rally racing, or even Top Gear, you can see an Evo is capable of. I consider myself a CAR enthusiast, not a Camaro enthusiast. That's not to take anything away from the car. I guess my point is that you don't have to down other cars or make "car racist" remarks to make yourself feel better about owning an incredible piece of machinery. Alright, lets see what everyone says about this.

ricer doesnt refer to specific cars, it refers to cars that have been riced. a camaro could be riced if someone wanted to. go here :

Generally, the hatred towards ricers is not the vehicle. I think there's some pretty sick Evo's, STI's, etc. Its the kids in their Civic that put 8" tips and a foot high spoiler on the rear with a body kit and decals that people apply the term "ricer" too. In my book, if it runs as fast as it looks, it aint rice. But if you have a wing for "downforce" and can't pull a 16 in the quarter, you've got a lot more issues than downforce.

I love Top Gear, but they don't spend time on "ricers". There is a difference between a Japanese car and a ricer. A ricer usually has a flamboyant paint job, a ridiculous body kit, and a useless spoiler.

I work with guys from the UK and they love the Evo, even the Ford Focus. I get it, but Americans are typically more about the straightline than how a car handles in the corners.

"Rice" to me just means "tacky mods, especially non-functional ones." Being small, fast and Japanese doesn't turn me off to a car.

Please.... an STi, an EVO, and a Skyline are not "ricers."

Ricers are cars like a 1993 Honda Accord with a double-wing, hubcap spinners, sanded paintjob, drilled bumpers, 6amp-600watt sound system, and an exhaust that makes it sound like a boat.

WOW! Those are some of the ugliest cars ever. Why take a 1.5M Veyron and ruin it? Don't get me started on the Lambo with the cargo carrier and the horrendous Viper with the light blue/red striping and metal crap on the rear.

Ditto...I dig allot of those types of cars..Its the others that follow the stereotype of "ricer" that gets on my nerves...Fart cans, Crazy extreme ground effects packages that do not fit the car or its capabilities, and half primered along with four other color body panels. No different than people saying I should have a mullet since I have a Camaro.

I buy American period. Yes, I am aware that the Camaro is Canadian built. It is built by an American owned company. I do not want a car built by a company (Nissan) that used our captured soldiers as slave labor during WW2. I do not want a car built by a company that built the planes that bombed Pearl Harbor (Mitsubishi, the Zero). I will not buy a 2020 Taliban or a 2021 Al-queda either. If that is "car racist" then so be it. I also do not want a car designed by Ferdinand Porsche under orders from the man that started the car company (Volkswagen) ( Adolph Hitler). You can fact check any of this if you want.

My other car is a Modified Subaru. and I have also owned a Eclipes GS-T. I don't hate on any cars. I have respect for anyone that does things tastefully reguarless of what they use as a starting point.

I consider Ricers the guys that are putting VTEC logos on their escorts and stuff like that.


It's funny this came up. I saw the Orange Supra from the first "Fast and the Furious" on the highway Yesterday.
