I believe the CTS-V has been out since 2004. The 2009 was the first with 556 HP. My cousin got one Thanksgiving of 2008. Bad!

Wow! I don't really like the rear of the car but i would freakin get one if i had the money just for the 556HP. Thanks for sharing!

MILFORD, MICHIGAN -- Official Society of Automotive Engineers numbers for the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V are 556 hp and 551 lb-ft of torque. Its 6.2L supercharged OHV V-8 propelled it around a lap of the Nordshleife in seven min, 59.32 sec recently, and Cadillac says it will launch it from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 sec. Quarter-mile? About 12 sec at 118 mph. Cadillac says some runs have beat 12 sec; others are slightly over.

Cadillac says times are too close to delineate between the six-speed automatic with sport-shift programming and paddle-shifters and the full six-speed manual. There's much more to tell, but I'm posting this quickly...more on the car to come.

Manufacturers' numbers typically are a tad conservative. Our testers will have their hands full trying to beat a 12-sec quarter-mile, though. How do the CTS-V's chief rivals

I'd never get it .. For the price of that I can buy (2) Loaded SS's and still have change left over .. I'd just supercharge the Camaro 6.2 like they did for a few grand more..

Sub 4 second 0 - 60 time...

12 second quarter mile...

190 mph top speed...

But if you had a choice of TWO Camaros, say his and hers SS coupe and SS convertible... or a Z28 weekend car (coming soon?) and a LT for commuting... instead of one CTS-V - which do you pick?
