Don’t ask, Don’t tell

Now I agree that they need to drop that but wont it just open a big can of worms?

You will then need double the showers and bathrooms.

If straight men and women can’t shower together over sexual attraction issues and sex.
Then folks, who are only attracted to the same sex, will have the same issues.

Some will say no, gay men and women are professional enough to not look or stare, then its ok for straight men and women to shower together then too right?
Which they will not allow. Which will open up even more civil liberty flaws.

They will either have to make a new setup for each group or turn all showers and bathrooms into uni-sex.

Buy you know most straight women don’t want straight men in their shower while they soap up, then straight men will be able to feel the same and force segregation of the sexes for the gays, like they do straight people, no????

I got no problem with it, but wonder how in the heck will they handle that.

Sounds like a simple solution to just drop it but the can of worms it will open, will expand out of control.

I don't like to shower with dudes that I know don't want my package. I really don't want to shower with some dude that wants to ride my package.

I say leave the policy until something smart is put in place.
The shower thing is only basic training. As for everything else, homos have every right to serve. I have no problem with a gay person saving my life or killing the enemy.

I think the current policy still keeps a lot of them from joining though. Opening it up like they want will encourage more to join and will increase the risk of inappropriate situations happening.

I wonder if they'll have more people not wanting to serve with gays than gays lining up to join.

I don't see how the shower thing is a big deal, gays will be gays and bis will be bis whether you're aware of it or not. There are currently gay men and bi men and women showering with their respective sexes, that won't likely change. If someone makes a big deal about it they'll probably get disciplined or kicked out.

Then why not put everyone together men, women, gays etc.. One shower for all since it's childish to think that way. Women shouldn't get upset having to shower with men after all were all grown up here now.

I agree with you. however, there are way too many childish people in the military as it is, no need to expound upon it and keep segregating further.
