Yep... I want the A6 for those reasons and more. I just want it to have the same exhaust growl and road feel as the M6.

The A6 I drove felt too.... smooth(?) to me. The M6 felt more like it was part of the blacktop instead of riding on top of it.
Autos can be beefed up with a shift kit and a stall converter and for the exhaust sound , any good muffler shop can fix the sound

Me too my friend , but she is the one that has to be happy with it , I like both , there are good points with each , but it has to suit her in the end and she has driven both and has to decide for herself

You cannot make that car the same...it is impossible....unless you want to put a shift kit and stall converter in it...bye bye warantee...and you would shift it ...without a clutch.......

See! THAT's why I need you guys! I was told the A6 can't be modified to be more like the manual. I know what I want, but don't know what is and isn't possible with mod's.

Shift kit will make it shift harder and stall converter which unless you plan on dragging it you won't need , but it makes it launch harder

I had the auto in the Vette and loved it and when you were on it hard it would bark the tires in second and third , or you could drive normal and was nice and smooth and pretty sure that's the same tranny in the Maro

The M6 I drove had the 21" wheels, would that account for "most" of the difference in the road feel? the A6 had stock wheels.

Sort of , it slams into the gears harder , a more solid shift , but stock should be just fine for you , in comp mode shifts plenty hard

I didn't get a chance to play with the tap shift modes.
