I drive a WRX right now, and I am hoping to be one of the first MY owners of a new generation Z28, and saw a topic on the 2011 Mustang, naturally I took a look in and saw what was said and just threw in the pot that I love the camaro and wouldn't even think of a mustang, but that the mustang looks great just not for me, a couple of the ford fans got on me quick and started bashing me, GM, the camaro, pretty much anything non-ford. Having a short temper I shot back at them and got pulled into the juvenile back and forth posts, but I just had to show the ignorance these two or three guys have. BTW I'm 904scooby on the site, Check near the bottom for my post, pretty much after that three or four guys went off on me.

Tell me what you think.

I think it is so DUMB to argue which car is better. They are both very nice cars and represent the history of the American muscle car. Mustang owners dog the Camaro as much as I have seen Camaro owners, on this forum, dog the Mustang. It's so political on these forums. It's really no different than seeing two people argue over being a republican or democrat. Most of the facts that get thrown around by both parties have no substance and mean nothing. Bottom line... drive what makes you happy.

Hey Coolman. Thanks for the info about the Shelby GT500. I be first to admit my car mechanical shortcomings to my fellow GM, Chevy, Corvette, and Camaro comrades. But, even I, can sometimes catch some of the uninformed during the jab fests. When I do, I can't help myself to remind the 'other side' of the not-so-well known aftermarket Chevy's too. To me, it's all in fun, since the beginning of muscle history. I gotta say that for most of that history, to my knowledge, Chevy was the quality and performance brand. 2010 reinforces that opinion for me. PS: 2010 CAME FROM THE OLD GM! (B4 new management). And love Mr. Bob Lutz with the GM heart of gold too! I am very seriously thinking of driving my Camaro and attending the upcoming April Camaro5Fest to admire all the other Camaro's that will be there. Thanks again!

Camaro guys should be able to say things like:
"The Challenger did a better job of sticking to it's roots."
"Give the mustang some credit for being able to run with the Camaro with less power."

Thank you! I still am confused as to why my dad, proud owner of a Orange 2010 2SS Camaro is hesitant to go to the track just once to race me in my 2003 Mustang GT. He was hesitant before with his '78 Corvette, n that for the lack of better words has no balls for a 350. Now he has a Brand new bone stock V8 Camaro, a little over 100HP over me (i have a few mods n run a 13.60 (soon to be low 12's, not FI or spray) at the track and still wont race me! His excuse is : A) I dont want to make a fool out of you! SO WHAT MAKE A FOOL OUT OF ME, AT LEAST I TRIED! B) By the time i cross the finish line ill turn around and wave at you when you reach half way! OMG JUST RACE ME FOR FUN!! anyone PLEASE help me understand him, trying to get him out to the track or just a fun cruise is like pulling teeth!

How much does he weigh?...lol. If he brings his Camaro too much over 4k lbs then he may have problems stock.
P.S. Just playin

This is true 550 hp., aluminum block, and it also has electric power steering for whatever that's worth. But it looks fugly as crap with the skinny stripes.

If you hate the stripe it still looks like you can opt to go stripeless, so it's not a big deal.

Also, the skinny stripes are only for the Performance Pack ( 19"/20" rims and 3.73 gears). The regular stripes will still come on non-PP GT500's.

Stripes or not, it's still ugly...hehe...

Seriously though, the debate has become so political that rational thought does not enter the equation for some people.

As a loyal GM/Camaro fan, I can still admit the new 5.0 will probably have the Camaro's number until an inevitable GM response given how close it is w/the 4.6. Doesn't change how much I love the car or my intent to buy a Camaro over a Mustang.

Competition improves things across the board. Welcome it.
