But what if they are a young couple who are spending a disproportionate percentage of their budget on a car?

I'd be pissed if I had to make ramen noodles every night because my girlfriend wanted to buy a new car that she didn't need and it tied up our budget.

well its the next day. i still feel sick to my stomach about the fight and everything last night.

im giving her her space as suggested here. i just have a guy feeling that there is more to her throwing me out than the money and the car. like I said she knew my finances when we first got together and I moved in. I just wish she would respond sooner rather than later cuz technically we didnt break up. we just had a fight and she kicked me out. I want to know if i need to start moving on with my life...

This gal is just a girlfriend who it sounds like you have only known for a short period of time. Let it go. I could understand if it was your wife and this happened however you go through all the crap to get rid of the car then she dumps your anyway. Getting dumped sucks and it does hurt but I would move on. Keep the car and figure out a way to get yourself stable. You are in a commited long term relationship with your car (loan) gonna be a b*tch if you default on that.
