This whole sticky throttle thing has me thinking. Just imagine the fun you could have with this.

Should make test drives more interesting. Just think about it. Slam the throttle down and ram whatever you want.
"The throttle stuck. Not my fault."

Run over that pesky neighbor's basketball hoop that he won't get off the street.
"The throttle stuck. Not my fault."

Blow past a state trooper.
"The throttle stuck. Not my fault."

The possibilities are endless here.

This isn't toyota though. this is a business having to deal with the mistakes of its parent company. as much as i hate toyota i honestly feel bad for the dealers

If I was a waiter at one of those curbside restaraunts that delivered your food to the car, I'd be demanding hazard pay any time a Toyota pulled in.. hehe.

I wonder how this works. Will this get collected through his insurance? Will his insurance go after Toyota? If they do, does it justify raising the rates on Toyota like the rates got raised on the Camaro becuase of accidents?

I wasn't talking about the dealer...I agree -- toyota the parent company has just had another "FAIL" moment...and that's what I meant...it's rippling all the way down to the "little guy" slamming his truck into a building.

Car and Driver has a test in the latest issue where they jammed the throttle open and then used the brakes to see if you could stop the car. It only took an extra 20 feet to stop the car using the brakes with the throttle jammed open.
