Well, I have a sound coming from there that sounds like two 2 X 4's being lightly clacked together... I can't really explain it other than that... This occurs when in pretty much any gear, crising along and just get on the gas... no additional clutch or anything, just bear down on the go pedal and this tack,tack,tack...It's in most RPM ranges, and the tech-no-know told tech services when he called it was only at very low rpm's.

Tech-no-know at the dealer says he cant hear it... They did a once over and I left with the car after, telling them that was #1... they checked the fluid, no metal, no unusual discoloration etc... He can't hear it and I listened to it all the way home... Oh well,,,, It'll either break, and they replace it, or they will eventually hear it, and will replace it, or something... I'm certainly not driving it like this for 100,000 miles or more...

Only other thing I can think of is a bearing out in the trans/clutch and I'm getting some elliptical rotation in there somewhere... which will soon cause a failure if there is such movement... I'm not feeling any excessive vibration though...yet...???

HMMM, well a through out bearing just makes a spinning whining noise when the clutch pedal is fully out....in nuetral...clutch pedal out do you hear anything at all ?
Now awhile back, there was a shutdown in production over a trany problem,my feeble brain cant remember at the moment what it was about...me thinks in search history you can find it....it was on this site I do know that.I think we need to look at that....maybe yours is involved in that.
Now,is it on exceleration or just cruising....if on acceleration,me thinks output shaft or drive shaft---u joint sitchiation...deceleration, me thinks bearings inside trany.
I guess all the time you spend huntin oil doesnt leave a lot of time to resolve the problem.....work sucks,a necessary evil !

I'm not really thinking a throw out bearing or clutch, just running out of ideas... My car doesn't fall in the same run of Vin's that had the slow down. I am 160117, so I'm way past that. There have been occasional reports I've heard of where there was an isolated periodic problem... I'll follow up with the dealer, and if that fails, one of the Moderators on here wants to drive my car to try out my shifter... If he agrees that there is a noise thats unusual, he has some pretty serious connections... I'll also follow up with the area service reps... etc... Not worried about it, just a little frustrated... I can see this scenario, been stuck down here in no-wheres ville for 4 weeks, get home, transmission breaks, goes to the shop, and I get it back three and a half weeks later just in time for me to leave to come back down here... %^*$%^$%&*(&^....

As I said, it'll break and they replace it, or they start hearing the noise, and they replace it... sooner or later...

nah...

even the doesn't-know-tech said how much he liked the feel of it over the factory shifter...

The shifter is in no way effecting the transmission, I heard the noise prior to the install... it's just getting worse...

Me too, and I think I made up my mind....

Ghost stripes... I'm going to have the paint shop add some silver or black to the factory red jewel tint color, to lighten it or darken it about three shades... Probably lighter...I want the stripes there, but not obvious or overpowering... After they do the stripes, I'm thinking about a pearl clearcoat over the whole car... All in all the clear will add another layer of protection over the factory paint... and throw off some really bizarre colors in different light...

Thoughts or opinions on this... and if you like the idea Boe, feel free... I have no claimer or originator rights to anything...except me... I'm an original one of a kind... TG.......
