I do hate to be the responsible one, but this issue is bigger than Toyota. With the parts integration, just in time delivery, and decreased test times, these problems could be in any car companies inventory. Toyota's mistake was in down-playing and denying any problem. Ford , GM, Honda are all just a computer glitch away from being in the same boat. How companies deal with adversity is probably more telling than the adversity. Unfortunatly, Toyota has been slow to quit blaming the customer and start looking at it's products. It is much better to be proactive when you think there might be a problem, than to be reactive when people are in horrific crashes.

just kidding, but I bet some of these dealerships are a lil bit scared of a reversal of fortune. I don't think these issues make Toyota or Honda hugely worse than GM or Ford, but it should help remind people that they aren't any better than any other car.

Actually, this also applies to 2009-10 PONTIAC Vibes...

Careful where you apply the salt...

As to Toyota's "relative position" with quality:

Hmm, 2009-20019 Vibes. I think they total about 40k units, maybe 50k. They're no more a GM vehicle than the Toyota Cavalier was a Toyota in the 90's. Meanwhile, nearly 10 million Toyotas have been recalled worldwide (so far) due to unintended acceleration.

...and NUMMI was owned by WHO? Partly GM...

And those "silly folks who foolishly spent their money at the Pontiac store for a Vibe" deserve what they got?

You're now potentially antagonizing 40-50,000 GENERAL MOTORS customers!!!

Take the "high road", here...anything LESS should be beneath you...

Yes GM needs customers, but NOT through some of these tactics you and some Dealers are espoucing. GM's already got enough bad press without seeking more. "What goes around, comes around" and GM has enough "stories" in their own past (and more no doubt to come...) that should teach you/them NOT to dance on Col. Sam Dr. or the RenCen because of this...

Remember, this is a public forum, and I don't hear Settlemire and others on here even talking about this...nor should they...

IMHO
