dont be mad you didnt have the cash to drop in a stroker like you shouldve.....plus there is something called diablo predator if you were desperately in need of a tune. stop the crying and fork up the cash....you shouldve known b4 you bought the csrt8 that the hemis were the most expensive to mod since their re-introduction in 2005. anyone who has a hemi knows what mods are best for this engine.... and btw the gt500 stomps the challenger and itll stomp the camaro as well so you basically said gm isnt concerned about its future either.

lot of good things in chryslers future imo....youre just a negative nancy

ps not trying to say whether you have the cash to drop it or not....just my ranting

oh and how is the fiat line not promising please do tell?

they have small economical cars which is the fad and the one thing all critics say chrysler is missing.
Lots of good things planned for their future ... no guarantees the company will survive long enough to implement them.

Your GT500 beating the SS argument would make sense, if it was the SS's competition. The only competition the GT500 has is Corvettes and SRT8s. You are the last of these three.

I would like to take this opportunity to give the GT500 a very rare nod of the head. See...the way I see it -- you're right...at first.

The GT500, when put in the ring, will have two other cars attempt to take it down. The first is the Corvette. This car fights the uber-Mustang involuntarily, because it knows it's going to win. Every time, in every comparison. ALWAYS. Magazines like to compare these two all the time, yet it's as silly as comparing a 370z to a Camaro SS. They are completely different vehicles. Two seats vs 4, race-car design vs GT design, the list goes on and on and on. Ford never directly fights the Vette, and Chevy's too smug about the Corvette to even acknowledge the Mustang's existance. This rivalry was manufactured by the media.

Then there's the SRT8 Challenger. And this one is pitted against the GT500 because it costs nearly the same, and Chrysler is silly enough to put it in the same market when it can only keep up with a Camaro SS. BUT...this was Chrysler's choice when they priced the thing, and goes back to your general beef about the Challenger and Chrysler.

So, my head-nod to the GT500 is for being a kick ass car that I would be proud to own, and really being unrivaled...if not technically, then realistically.

...now you'll never hear those words out of my mouth again...so take a screenshot.

the only flaw i see in your response is that the gt500 base starts at what? 50k or so and the challenger what 42-43? that is a 7k difference... about the same gap the 2ss and srt8 have....so if we go by price then why does the gap between the challenger and the gt500 get negated?

Ford.com lists $47,575 and Dodge.com says $43,655.

Well...I said all that based on some quick numbers I pulled up from their respective sites:

The Challenger, with the mandatory gas-guzzler tax and a manual tranny (for some reason an extra-cost option), starts at $44,350 including destination.

The GT500, starts at 47,575 including destination.

Even if you discount that manual tranny in the Dodge, that's still only ~$3800 difference.
