I am a few days behind, but congratulations man! I haven't been able to spend as much time on here as I would like with work and buying a house and all, but I wish you and your family the best!

Post up some pictures of the little guy when you get the chance!

We've been trying to get some alone time and got some pretty good sleep last night (had the vitals nurse come in at 3:30am yesterday morning to wake up my wife...she wasn't too pleased.. hehe). But, we still got plenty of sleep last night.

Mindz, to answer your question... My wife is 29 years old, is 5'7", and has the child bearing hips (she's curvy...just like I like'em! ). With Dylan, our first, she was in A LOT of pain. Doc's think his head was pressing on a nerve or something because she was in constant pain...then the contractions hit and it was lots'o pain which was much worse:( . Once she was given the epidural, she was doing MUCH better...but was still in some pain.

With Dean, she had slight pain w/ regular contractions. She hit the 3cm mark and was given the epidural. She was fine....no pain. She didn't grunt. She didn't make any noises. She just pushed holding her breath. Now, as I said before, this was a FAST delivery. So, she was only pushing for a max of 7 minutes:eek: . The nurse wanted to do "practice pushing." Uh...no. His head was crowning on the 4th push and the nurse had to call the delivery doctor telling her to "RUN." The nurse then had to push on his head keeping him in until doc got there.

Once the Doctor got there, my wife pushed once and seriously, Dean was pushing himself out. He came right out VERY fast...which is why he still had fluid in his lungs. It was quick. My wife didn't feel a thing and had zero complications.

Again, thank you all for the congrats. As soon as I get the family home and have a few minutes to download the pix, I'll post them up for all to see our beautiful baby boy Dean.

I am one of those vitals nurses lol, sorry on behalf of us all! It's just part of the job and we have to do it! I always feel bad when I go in a patient's room and have to wake them up to take their BP and temp when I know they haven't been able to sleep well because of laboring all night, family visiting, the baby, etc. Glad to hear he is out of the NICU, that is great! Are you guys home yet?

You better post that pic soon!

Hey, I know you all have jobs to do. It's part of the job and you have to come in when you are supposed to. It's all good!

We are at home. After I check a few posts, I'm going to find that camara and download those pix. They'll be up soon!

Yay that's awesome! I can't wait for that feeling. I've been a step-parent of a girl since birth (she didn't know I wasn't her real dad until my divorce last year), and my new honey is a mom already too...so I've been a "dad" so to speak for a while, but never felt that experience personally. I'm jealous.

Those pics of your child laying on your chest....those moments make every little bit of crap, time spent driving to doctor's appointments, being b$%ched at by the pregnant wife, etc, all worth it.

I loved (and still do) every time one of my girls would fall asleep in that position....I would just sit there and listen to them breathe and most often, fall asleep myself.

Congrats again and give all our best wishes to your wife as well.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you!

Silverado, you know it. There's nothing like it in the world.

Steven, about the future musclecar owner...my 2 1/2 year old in the back loves cars. Tonight when I was putting him down, I asked him what he wanted me to read to him..... He lies back, is quiet (I can see the wheels turning), says, "Chevy....ummm....car....Chevy......Camaro.... .. Transformers!" I bought the cartoon book and read it to him every other night. He loves it and will surely be a die-hard musclcar addict!!!
