My own personal opinion, I might catch some heat, but what the hell,I dont care to get into it but, 18 should be the legal age for everything, cigarettes, drinking and whatever else have you. You can go to war, fire your gun and kill some one, but at 18 you cant smoke (in some states?) or drink.

21 is too high, 18 is a better age to set it at. I never really understood why its so high in the states.

Not everyone needs to be told how to act responsibly. Will there be some who abuse it, absolutely. If it were to ever get lowered, which I doubt it will, there should be a 0 tolerance policy with DWI and such. You get caught drinking while driving, you lose your license, simple. But then again I think that law should be in effect now.

Parts of canada you can drink as young as 16 with parental supervision, then it becomes 18.

Its the same thing with firearms, you can own a rifle at 18, but you cant own a handgun until 21. The people who are going out and doing it legally arent the one going and killing people. But thats a whole other subject.

I know in some places in Europe, you can drink at 16. I read where by the time they get to driving age that the % of people with drinking problems dropped by a very large number. And the whole thing about being 21 to have a handgun... not far from here the otherday an 8th grade kid was found with 3 handguns and 250 rounds of ammo in his backpack and had an assult rifle at home... go figure. He opened fire on police and shot one in the leg, the police fired back and killed him and now some people are complaining about the police killing him..... Everyone needs to listen to Tim Wilson's "its a sorry world". it brings up a lot of good points. lol

When I was a sophomore in high school the drinking age was 18 in Texas, at that time if you knew a Sr. that was 18, beerrun at lunch time. After school let out, the parking lot was littered with beer bottles. Needless to say, the next year the drinking age when up to 19, and went to 21 there after. I am good with it being 21.
