I don't find them particularly useful.

For example, ratemyprofessors has a bunch of kids whining and complaining about my Animal Sciences professor, saying that she's a hard grader, complains about her students, and is an overall horrible teacher. Her exams can be difficult, but she's a saint compared to other professors. You can tell she takes the time to make sure we understand the material given. She's the first teacher I've ever felt comfortable enough with to just shoot her an email and set up a meeting if I needed help. Other teachers act as if they don't give a crap about you.

Basically I've found the majority of people on those sites post bad stuff because they did bad in the class or something.

Likewise, a worthless fool can turn Far Eastern myths and legends into worthless course material. That class was a waste of tuition, and i could have been so interesting.

I think it depends on the school. A lot of the bad ones for my professors people had decent grades, but the teacher wasn't good. Or everyone had bad grades, on an average... its usually pretty accurate for me...

This is a good point.

To a certain degree, take things with a grain of salt. Also - ask your friends who've taken the class before what prof they had and what they thought of them. And, if your university is like OU, you can always drop the class within the first few weeks and get a refund. Or swap into another professor's class.

P.S. - going to bed all.

They do that to make sure we can keep enjoying it here. I'm glad they do. All things are good in moderation.
