Mustang gets a clue in 2014

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/01/20/r...form-with-irs/

Mustang will finally catch up to the Camaro in 2014. Autoblog is reporting IRS in 2014 Mustang.

You would be correct. Not to mention a stick axle is much easier to beef up, dial in, and weighs much less than the irs in the Camaro.

The 03/04 Cobra IRS is not a bad unit. I know a few guys running low 11's on rock stock rear ends with just gear swaps. This was up at Palmdale. Take into account the DA and those are 10 second slips. Both cars making just under 450 rwhp.

Is that supposed to be impressive on that type of car?

03/04 Cobras rode like log wagons. At least in my experience.

I get the impression from a lot of your posts that you have never been on a dragstrip, let alone what it does or does not take to acheive a 10-second timeslip in a street car.

I've been on a lot of drag strips and that's why I said I'll be getting one before 2014. Solid Axles Rule.

I've been on a drag strip many times. That is only 100 HP above the stock RWHP. The ten second pass is impressive, but in regards to him saying the IRS wasn't a bad unit, it's not impressive. There are a lot more factors that came into play than just the IRS leading the way to that 10 second pass. The IRS in the Cobra was bad, I'm not saying the car was bad though.

Stock for stock would be a close race, but the Terminator would still come out ahead in the end.
