When are you due to return?

GM normally stops taking orders on the current MY at the end of May and stops producing them the first week of July when they start producing the next MY. So when you get back will determine your choices.

go for the 2011.
I'll be one of the 2010 beta testers.
Although have not seen any issues on mine yet.

but 2011 may have memory seats and possibly HUD.

...and a price increase to go with them...

Like everyone else I feel it depends largely on when you're due to come back home. If you'll be coming home within the next few months and you want it waiting for you when you get back home then order now. However, if you won't be returning until later this year (after the model year switchover) I think it's definitely worth it to wait and order an '11. A) You'll get any upgraded goodies that the new model year may bring about and B) it's very cruel to order the car now and make the poor thing just sit and wait for you until then. It'll get lonely after all and we don't want that :( Besides, what use is it to you across the ocean?

Hey everyone, thanks for the replies. I will get back in early May. My dealership says I can order a 2010 until mid Apr or so and can order a 2011 in May. Leaning towards ordering a 2011 when I get back. Less chance of a mistake in the order if I am sitting across from the salesmen with all the numbers in my hand. Besides, 2011 coinsides with my retirement from the Air Force. Thanks again for all the replies.

I say wait for the Z-28! That is what I am doing. I was in the process of ordering a 2010 when the dealer stopped emailing me. Then I found out I am being deployed again pretty soon after I get back, sooo Z-28 (eventually)!

That poster was just kidding. Right now there has be no news about any kind of HP increase. Actually....there hasn't been any kind of confirmation about anything on the 2011. The one or two things I've seen are all just rumors.

Think about this....why would GM confirm any improvements to any 2011 car at this point. The last thing they want to see is consumers not by a new car because of a feature that might be coming down the line.

Also...there will probably small improvements but expect there to be a price increase to go along with it. Assume they add HUD...GM will pass that cost on to the consumer. Then if they add say memory seats....again the cost will be passed along. So even if the are a couple significant improvements you'll end up paying for them.

You would only HAVE to pay for them if they make them standard. If its an option, you don't have to pay but you have more choices which is a good thing.

Agreed. Ford just shot themselves in the foot by announcing their new powertrains 6 months early. Why would you buy a Mustang GT now when the new V6 will have as much power for 2011? They had to do it just to show they can keep up with the Camaro which for every month of sale has beaten them soundly.

The only confirmed 2011 model feature will be a top that comes down to expose you and your passengers to the sun. Beyond that, nothing announced. Only speculated.

Thank you for your service...I would have to agree with some of the the other folks and wait for the 2011 so you can order EXACTLY what you want and not settle for what's left on the lot.

I agree, I would wait. I would also check into the GM Military Discount too. I know we can use it on the 2010s, but I'm not sure about the 2011s. A couple grand might make or break your decision.

I'm heading over to Iraq this fall and punching out in 2011 also.

I am sure other features of the 2011 have been decided on internally, but you probably wouldn't know anything about it anyway, right?
