Actually....It is a go.
I, like Fen, think that Interior is close to production...and they apparently intend to use reverse Cameras (possibly shown on that big screen) to make up for rearward visibility being compromised by the stunning split rear window.

And as for the overall design...there are many...MANY things on the Stingray Concept that cannot be translated directly into production and still sell for 50k. So much should be expected to change. But...that car is what GM designers see when they think "Corvette"...so use your imaginations. I am!

Yes. Apparently a bunch of people like boring design, but that's their problem.

Now if said boring design crashes into my car because of unintended acceleration...then we have a problem.

Often if the car doesn't go into production, elements from these exercises will. Whether it is technology, exterior, or interior they often serve as inspiration for what we may see in a few years. Additionally, they will often draw attention to the brand and create buzz. Lastly, creative types wither and die if engineers and bean counters constantly tell them to scale it back.

Fine, even if that car isn't going to be a full production model, I probably couldn't afford it anyway, even if I traded in my Maro and got 10 for it and put forth 8, total being 18,000 as downpayment. My note would be 500ish, given a 9 percent APR. Wait,.....I would be able to afford it. lol. I'm hoping for a baseline model with just the standards, "just to have it".

Anyway, here is a question I'm dying to ask, hoping some of you can help me with it. Look at the color of the Silver Ice Metallic Camaro SS and the color of the new Corvette Stingray Concept,...I don't know but for some reason the silver on that car looks a little more metallic and bright than the silver on the production model of the 2010 Camaro SS.

I dunno, maybe it's that fresh paint look, but if I couldn't afford that car once it's in production I'd damn sure consider getting my Camaro repainted THAT COLOR if that is indeed a different color.

Can someone shine light on that for me? Got the paint code? ?

Aww, don't give me that. Even if it's just a showcar, it's painted a particular color,...a color I just so happen to think will look amazing on the Camaro. It looks a little more metallic or perhaps "brighter". If it's really a different color on the vette, I'd love to get that paintcode and I'd really consider getting my car repainted.

If you get your car painted in a shop I'm sure you can get it to look exactly how you want. Actually, there's no reason to not get it the exact way you want if its been taken to a shop. I don't think you even need the paint code. Give them pictures and describe what you're after. They will be able to figure out how to do it.

No way to tell unless you talk to one of the designers. :( For what it's worth, though...I believe it's the same color used on the Camaro concept coupe and on Jay Leno's car. It's that show-car silver GM likes to use.

Those are fantastic pictures! And I've never seen them before.

Got anymore?

+1. There are ONLY two cars in existence right now that I actually drool over their designs. The Camaro is one, and this car is the other.
