Actually,

my rig is about 150 or so miles off the East Coast of Brazil, bout 4500 miles south of you... I've never worked land rigs. I work as a sub sea engineer and they don't have much call for us in the sand... or rocks of west or south texas...

But yes I work the rigs... Dont believe most of what you see on the tv shows... especially Blood Sweat and Rigs... we use those as educational material for what not to do... they are "cowboys" by and large and would not last any time at all offshore... Just the facts... our rigs are much much bigger, they float, and we would not tolerate the unsafe care free attitude they display on tv.

Tongue in cheek, we also realize a lot of what is shown is dramatically enhanced to make the show more interesting...
