Nascar is looking at phasing in the pony cars in the Busch series.
Read an article on it last year, they want the fans to more easily identify production cars.

Im getting sick of seeing articles keep saying the 2011 mustang has "class leading mpg" last time I checked everything says it gets 25mpg no more than the camaro

Well Didn't the Camaro Pace the Daytona 500, Indy 500 and the Brickyard races LAST YEAR???

How soon we forget...

Besides it's the tracks that make contracts with the manufacturers to provide pace cars, Not NASCAR...of course the people that run NASCAR also own Daytona Speedway..

GM is dropping most if not all their contracts to provide pace and support cars in NASCAR.. when their contract is up they have not been renewing any of them so far.

And, who can forget the Camaro Pace Car being delivered by Chinook Helicopter for the Texas Motor Speedway Race last season too!!!....

The Camaro paced quite a few races last season, as well as last yr's Indy 500!!!

Well it definitely makes business sense, since the Camaro is pretty much marketing itself. The only thing, that I still hear is many people think its a $40-60k car. So I figure, the more the car is in view, the more people will research it and find otherwise.

Wonder why NASCAR did not switch to a Camaro in the Nationwide series? Probably unfair as it would dominate the series racing the Mustang and Charger. lol

Chevy chose not to use the Camaro, It wasn't NASCAR's decision...Again development costs, wind tunnel and everything, Alot of it transferred from the Impala Cup car to the Impala Nationwide car...Remember GM is cutting costs for their racing programs too...
