4 door Corvette and El Camino return?

Readin on Jalopnik, GM is apparently considering bringing over the Commodore again as a Chevy, quoted as a 4 door Corvette (hope that is just a performance description and not a name or styling direction) and bringing at Ute over as an El Camino. Granted, they are probably playing with us again, I'd love to see an ElCamino return myself

Why would they call that a 4-door Corvette? It couldn't be further from that description.

The El Camino might have a small niche market, but I don't see it taking over. Maybe we wait on this one.

That El Camino will never get off the ground.

No real point in re-introducing the El Camino. The 4 door Corvette comment was likely a reference to performance, much like the Camaro is a 4 seat Corvette.

Bringing over a few Commodores and Utes as niche vehicles could work as long as nobody is thinking of actually slapping the Corvette name onto any of them.

+1.

I love the idea of more performance in GM's stable...but I worry about the over saturation of the Chevy brand...It's already massive, and they'll be adding more "normal" cars to it in the coming years.

I mean, with this one; we're looking at:

Spark**
Aveo
Cruze
Malibu
Volt**
Impala
Chevy SS**
Camaro
Corvette
Orlando**
Equinox
Tahoe
Traverse
Suburban
Colorado
Avalanche
Silverado

...They're all great vehicles, but that's a lot of cars and trucks!
