Edit: Jack Del Rio of the Jaguars has been offered the HC position by USC.

Ok I have read all these posts and have to admit that most everyone is forgetting probably the most important point of this game, but before I go into that I have to say lighten up a bit, these are 17, 18, 19, 20, and in some cases a little older that are worshipped becasue they can play a game. I enjoy Crimson Tide football and have for the better part of 40 years. EVERYONE wants their team to win, EVERYONE finds fault when they lose, just like we di last year with UTAH, is UTAH better,, NO but they were on that night for whatever reason they won.

Ok now to my point, noone remember end of the second qtr 15 second to go and Mack Brown calls a time out to run a shuffle pass????????? and the rest is history. I truly believe that both Alabama and Texas players wanted to win, and both teams played extremely hard BOTH coaches made bone head decisions. 4 plays cost Texas the game and all 4 were turnovers.

I guess my point is this, while I am extremely glad that Alabama won the game, we will never know " What If" you can argue it till the cows come home but it won't change, probation, no probation, Colt no Colt, Donte no Donte, Bradford no Bradford whatever your arguement is.

What do I remember about the game???? I remember that Alabama won, that I met some very nice people from Texas and yes some were women, that college football is great and that there is always next year. Have no doubt that Texas will be very good next year, so will Bama and probably 5 or 6 more teams. but as someone once said " Act like you have been there" Knock'em down, pick'em up, and Pat'em on the butt. Both Texas and Alabama have storied programs and this will not change. SO I am out till next year 80 degree weather was nice but reality has set back in it's about 28 in Alabama. Roll Tide Roll

I hear you. McElroy is still the uber douche though.

Side note: UF's class is so strong, we're potentially going to retract scholarship offers on kids who are still taking school visits in order to give them to big name kids who decommit from other schools to come to UF (USC's kids... couple from Penn State... Top linebacker from Tenn)

From an inside source, Lame Kiffin has apparently been contacted in regards to the USC job.........

Which means they are really desperate.

I am torn on this one..... on one hand, I'd love nothing more than to be able to beat Kiffin every year.... and we all know as long as UT has him as their HC they are going to be a middle of the road team.... Soo part of me (the part that hates Tenn) wants him to stay and keep them horrible and give us a villan to hate.

The other part wants nothing to do with him, and would love to see him go and fail on a public stage like he would at USC. He has been to the Raiders, and Tenn... both organizations which have mediocre expectations.... USC fans expect to be top 5 every year. Not only that, but as a former recruiting director for USC I am sure he had involvement in all the NCAA infraction bullshit which is going down right now... so it would be an ironic twist of Karma...

1. Florida - based on the in-state recruiting talent/Athletic Program $$$/College town

2. Texas - College Town/Big Athletic Program

3. USC - No pro team/big city/beach

Zeus, what do you think will happen to USC? I mean it sure seems like they are blatantly violating NCAA rules, but imo they already got a free pass on the Reggie Bush violations. Will they get a pass on the McKnight violations, or heavy penalties?

True, the score will never change, but if Ingram had gone down on the first play and "McElroy, the uber douche" had still managed to keep Bama in the game right up until the four minute mark - but Texas wins! If that had happened, I know one thing for sure, as a UT fan I would keep my mouth shut and just walk away feeling very fortunate we won and did not get even more embarrassed.

I think the penalties are coming - and they didn't get out of anything with Bush.... the penalties just haven't been applied yet.

The NCAA did a 4 year investigation, and JUST concluded.... you can expect to start hearing about what they did/what is going to happen in the near future.

I couldn't tell you exactly what will happen, but apparently its bad enough where the USC job is being offered to a coach like Kiffin who isn't even qualified to run the program he is in, just because no big name-r would want to deal with all the bs.

When I heard Kiffin was offered the job, I figured it was odd they would offer it to Kiffin this quick, rather than take their time and interview more (and better) candidates.

Well when you think about it, most of the good HC prospects have been taken

Hey ponyman lets just let it go and move on. We know the main person who drove our Team went down early in the game and from that point on the enthusiasm went to a halt when the Word he wasnt returning. After Halftime we showed the Nation who we are " A Team no matter how young or expierenced we never give up " We also know what would have happened however thats just how its going to be and we can not change that. Hopefully we did change one thing. I hope for every SEC team/fan out there when they look at the Big12 they know Texas isnt a lame , weak lay down team who will take a loss without a fight like other teams have been accused of doing in our confrence.

It wasnt meant to be As Colt said. An injury like he had can happen to anyone. I'm thinking with as many hits as he took against SUH in the Big12 championship game they just piled up until the right hit in the right location sent him to the ground with his Nerves in shock.

Congrats to You Bama Fans accept the Win and Please treat it with Class.
There is really no need to brag and point out who Won the nation realizes who won and that its over.

We Texas Fans are hurt to the Core for our Team , there Families and of course our leader. Our NEW QB showed why he was a 5star qb out of HS.
Next year will be a year that we have offensive line problems meaning everyone of them but 1 graduate. Time to reload and move into the future
just remember the Great words from Vince Young in 2004 after beating michigan................

WE'LL BE BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK

"Now we know why Pete Carroll got the hell out of Dodge. The NCAA will hold its infractions committee hearings on February 19-21 and Southern Cal can expect severe sanctions and that dreaded lack of institutional control label thanks also to the basketball program’s involvement with O.J. Mayo. It’s already leaking out that the preliminary findings indicate there will be a heavy loss of scholarships for both sports. I’m sure the NCAA will demand that athletic director Mike Garrett is fired, too. This is going to get really ugly. Now you also know why Mike Riley didn’t return any phone calls to USC for the last week and why he signed a multi-year extension at Oregon State"
