I would love to see a 3.73. Inability to get anything but a 3.45 and no aftermarket gears available have been a sticking point with me. Hope that rumor comes true.

The answer I would give you does not validate your statement as fact. So I give you no answer. Just this: "
"Given the uncomfortably close outcomes between reviews on the 2010 Mustang and the 2010 Camaro...the Camaro team will not ignore the opportunity to upgrade the Camaro and keep it competitive. The best move here is to adopt a "wait and see" approach, not spout what we think as fact...unless you're a journalist. |

You will get more for your money with the Camaro if your planning on modding it. LSX motors respond to mods way better than dohc motors, and are cheaper to mod at that.

I know, its like they are still angry that from 1993 until 2011 they didnt produce a mustang gt that could beat a z28...and there wasnt even competition for 7 years. Hell I could probably go back to 1986's 350 tpi and that statement would still hold true.

Expect the 2011 Camaro to stay basically the same, they have a lot of money tied up in the 2010 and any changes would take a year to implement, thus 2012. Mustangs will get more hp in 2011, but that will only attract the 20% of the buyers that base their decision on performance/price. Most buyers are looking at the nameplate and the look. They are not the hardcore racers and modders that both sides fanboys think will make or break the cars. Face it, a really ugly stock 10 second car would be a sales flop despite performance. Camaros will sell more in 2010 because of the huge backlog of people who have wanted a new Camaro for the last 5 years. Model year 2011(the one that actually starts in the fall) will be the real test.

The 2009 and 2010 Challenger R/T's arent the same animal. They look the same on the outside, but inside there are a few ways to tell the two apart. Their engines arent direct copies of each other, neither is the suspension or computer. Expect some changes in 2011, maybe a more aggressive stock tune to bring the HP and TQ up slightly to compete with the V6 Mustangs..but thats about it. 2012 is the model year to look out for, thats when you'll see some pretty interesting changes in the Camaro to respond to both the 6.4L SRT8's and the 5.0L GT's. My bet is that if the Z28 isnt brought into production, the SS's will get some boosts. |
