I look for something like that engine to be in all the Harleys in the future. With the tightening emission standards and noise control it just make sense. I love my old air cooled engines but this is the future and we might as well embrace it.

I could live with the VRod engine between the rails of my Glide! Lol, that could be fun!

I own an 02'. Like the new Camaro, I bought the V-Rod as soon as it was available. I still love the bike, and I still get compliments on it. Some things I felt I needed to change on the bike included V-Modding the stock exhaust (which required a power commander or HD ECM reprogram). I'm very happy with the look and sound of the stocks now. I can't speak for the current models, but I'll tell you my bike has about a 2 gallon frame gas tank. I am stopping for juice every 60 miles (or less). There are aftermarket tank upgrades available tho.

I found that the bike has a longer rake than most ricers, so leaning into turns is imperative. Corners can go wide if you are not prepared for them. Also, I found the bike to be pretty comfy, even for longer rides. Passengers however, need to hold on for dear life.

Good luck.

So you like the tourer bike look, better. I gotcha.

I think if it weren't a V-Rod, I'd be looking at a dyna wide-glide. I like a bike with a sporty look. And the V-Rod backs its looks up.

Well, the Night Train wasn't a tourer, but rather, a beast, lol...

I started with the touring bikes after a cruise with a friend, to Mississippi and back. He had a Road King, I had a Night Train. See where this is going, lol?

Anyway, the touring bikes handle better too, so much so I find them way more fun then the Train, even though the Train had a 95" motor, 205 cams, jetted and Samson Rip Saws with no baffles. The fact the touring bikes can be flickes around so easily, lol, wow! They are a blast.

I'm a little curious on what you think of it...Post your thoughts!
I have ridden one, I actually have one. I think it is one of the best bikes I have owned. Mine is a VRSCB and I got it in 2005. I ride it during the summer on nice days that dont rain. I think I have maybe 6200 miles on it.

The V-rod styles have a few different driving configurations depending on models. The one I have has a cruiser feel to it and forward controls. There are versions with rear controls, different fork rake and they make you feel like your on a ricer bike.
I like the V-rod because it is a muscle bike. Similar to a V-max, but with the liquid cooled V-twin from HD. On this bike you can drive it normal like a traditional Harley, shifting at 3500 rpm, or you can crank it up to 9000 if you want to run it and feel the real power.
The bike handles great on the road and in corners. You can take a passenger if you like and it still controls nice.

As with all Harley's there are 1000's of bucks to spend in chrome. I have already been thru the HD wish book a few times on my V-rod.

This spring I think I will sell my V-rod to buy a friend out of his Softail classic. He can't ride it any more and needs the money, so if I sell mine, that is what I will do.

Here is my bike, black cherry. I bought bags and had them painted too.
$1000's invested in the chrome and polished billet so I will keep the post short and just let you see the pictures. If your in the market for a bike and interested in mine, let me know.

I am looking for $13,000. Bike is paid for and I have clean title in hand. Nothing wrong with bike, it is perfect in every way.
Also comes with a trickle charger and HD storage cover.

Nice pics, MR. FBDY and Lava!

I love the look of this bike so much!

The purchase is off about a year from now...but I'm looking into insurance rates, and licensing courses...

All silvered out! I saw this in Milwaukee at the 100 year anniversary and loved it! So I got one finally!

I have ridden a few. I have a highly modified stroker sportster & have raced a few. Still trying to find one that can hang with my little girls bike.

On another note, being an old school Harley rider (I also have a 72 Shovelhead), I didn't like them at first, but about 2 years I was at the Harley shop BS'ing with the girl behind the parts counter (as usual) & they had a Hugger orange V-Rod with a black frame. Since I'm a F-Body person I was intrigued with the bike. Everytime I went to the shop on the way out I would stop and look at the bike. One day the shop was empty & I was staring at the bike & the Shop's GM came over & told me that he always saw me staring at the bike & asked me if I was ready to buy. He was also part owner of the shop, so I told him no as I already had 3 Harleys @ home & my wife would kill me. He told me to hold on & went in the back & brought out the original invoice. I want to say they paid Harley $14,250 for the bike. He was going to let me have it for $14,500. I still told him that my wife would kill me.

Then I went home & due to my not knowing how my wife's mind works after 17 years of being with her, I told her about the bike & that I passed on it, so being a woman she got pissed that I didn't buy it. I CAN NEVER WIN

The Hugger Orange & black was the coolest V-Rod I've ever seen.

Some black wheels with a shiny lip & some black pipes with chrome tips would really set this bike off IMHO.

I'm a die hard Harley guy, been riding Harleys for 24 years now, back when everytime you would turn around you would be getting pulled over because you were a Biker. Now a days, I can't stand most of the Harley riders out there. My motto is it's not what you ride, it's IF you ride. I would rather ride next so some kid with a Night Hawk 250 who does it every day because he loves & lives it, than a group of weekend warriors/RUBS who put 20 miles a month on their bikes going from one coffee house to another every 3rd Sunday to show off their $300 HARLEY boots, & their $600 Harley jackets & all of their bolt on Harley parts.

Find some of these people when you are riding and ask them if the have a brass bell on their bike, check where it's located & ask them if they know why old school riders run bell's low on their bikes.

When I pull up to a toy run, or an event by myself on my Kick only shovel chopper & 20 year old leathers that are falling apart, I almost get treated like a disease. I was a true 1%er when I was younger. Now I'm a Lone Wolf. I still have some brothers that I ride with & when we are all together at these events everyone stay's away from us & our home built bikes, with home made parts.

I've been looking at a lot of different bikes. And a lot of them intrigue me...I just can't bring myself to buy anything foreign.

Luckily I don't have to settle...that V-Rod is hot!
