It's totally expensive. I ended up getting half a day off yesterday and I caught a matinee with the GF. Some 3d movies come with a couple sets of glasses when they are released on DVD. You'd have to buy it.

It's really worth it to check it out in theatres. Maybe wait til it's not insane, but you'll kick yourself if you don't see it in 3D. Many of the 3D filming techniques where developed by Cameron specifically for this movie.

If you like epic Lord of the Rings/ Sci Fi stuff, you'll dig it. It's also very much like a documentary for like the whole first half. I'm a Discovery Channel kinda guy, so that was fine with me. I plan on going back and seeing it in IMAX 3D at least once.

I understand, just pick and choose which one for the theater.
Apparently, Avatar is a must in 3D. Plus, it won't work at home.

Cool stuff, <3 Sci Fi. I might go see it at the Spectrum Imax if its also 3D in Imax.

Yeah, I keep hearing good things. It might just have to be one that I go see.

Yeah, kinda. It seemed to be all in good fun, and I think our mods are fairly thick skinned

Dude, he isn't the only one. In fact looking at the general reaction from both sides of the fence on the film I'd say it's on par just for reaction alone. Think Star Wars before the trilogy, before the 'episode whatever'. Back when it was just called Star Wars and it was late 1977.

Avatar did the same for me, barring the gut feeling that I'm sounding like a dolt for comparing it to the almighty Star Wars film franchise.

I'd see it again in a heart beat. And I haven't even seen it in 3D yet, only 2D. o_O

it's not the first time there is a thread like that one.

once when I wasn't a moderator.
