Is that why you think they're doing all that?

Okay...so they keep all their brands...and die because of it. Happy now? Look deeper...at the big picture: They HAD to do what they did or we wouldn't be able to buy our Chevy's and Caddy's anymore. Don't turn it personal and create a reason to hate them.:(

They're supporting their remaining employees by making the painful cuts necessary to keep the company alive. And they're supporting their customers by turning out class-leading vehicles and backing them up with an industry-leading warranty service.

Yep
The blames goes allot deeper them GM.

Its a US problem where we think a company isn't doing well unless it has constant growth, pumping out product 24/7 365 with 3 plants n each state where entire towns live off a plant.

That only works for a min in the big picture.

Should be like the old days again.

And here is were I dislike GM some for killing brands.

Go back to the old days where a dealers had maybe 7-8 cars and none were for sale. Your ordered and picked your car, nearly 100% custom if you want.
And then you wait for it to be built. And you still had all the brands.

GM would make mad money only selling what would sell and sell more as folks got what they really wanted instead of whats on the lot in most cases. And of course ya do make maybe 2-3% over demand so dealers can have a few popular optioned cars to sell on the spot to those with cash but the problem is that would kill even more jobs. Would be great for GM and us as buyers, but not as workers.

Damn those bastages! It's a conspiracy. I hear they are also responsible for Global Warming, The Lousiana Purchase, Vietnam war, and they killed KENNY!! Those bastages.

Now real simple. GM is recovering from one of the worst recessions ever faced by the car industry. In case you haven't noticed, the recession is in effecting the entire Economy. Now People can be selfish, and only think about themselves, or they can realize that this is for greater good. Either they cut brands or they continue on the downward spiral they have been on for years.

I had a man crush on the Saturn Astra XR 3 door for a long time. I passed on it because I knew they were gonna get axed, not just as a car line, but as a manufacturer.

You have to buy w/ your head as much as your heart.

If you spend all your time reflecting on how unfair life can be then you end up missing all of the new opportunities that can open up for you....

That would give the consumer too much of what they can't handle : Responsibility

I wonder what G8 GTs will go for? I got mine in May for 26.2K and the sticker was 33.3K

I noticed that our local GM/Chevy/Buick/ Caddy dealer, just got a new sign, which removes the pontiac name from it.

Noooo,, no Trans Am! :(

G8s will probably be somewhat collectible in the future along with the Solstice.

Every other Pontiac at the end though...meh.

Anybody seen a Stryker Blue Met. G8 GXP?? Anybody? They won't even sell G8 GXP's in Canada, nonetheless a BLUE V8 (GT or GXP)!

I'd love to pickup a G8 GT for a daily driver if the price is right. Anyone know what one is going for?

My guess is that the few remaining G8 GT's and GXPs will now have dealer markups to them to make up for the discounts ...unless GM plans on refunding the dealers their cost.

The closest GXP/GT in my area shows a price of 41,590 in Sunnyvale, California.
