Do you have anything to back up that they plan on paying back money to the government?

I think the government should allow taxpayers to go pick up a free Challenger in lieu of payment.

What a shock a car company that builds 30 or 40 different models, maybe 2 of them people actually want and they can't pay back a loan that we knew they could not pay back.

I'd take an SRT Chally as a consolation... Sounds good to me.

GM has the Malibu, CTS, Lambdas, Equinox, Camaro, Terrain, SRX, LaCrosse, GMT-900s, plus countless other class-leading vehicles on the way...

Ford has the Taurus, Fusion, Focus, F-series, MKS, Mustang, among others...

Chrysler has the Ram, Charger, Challenger, and minivans. Everything else...total jokes.

Good luck Chrysler.

One thing that Chrysler has going for it, and its a big one, is the police contract with the Chargers. The Challenger is also seeing police sales.

Chrysler has: Charger, Challenger, Journey, 300, Viper(which is probably going to return in 2012-13), Ram, Dakota, Caravan, Avenger, Nitro, Jeep Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Patriot, etc. Plus the Chrysler 200 is going to be going into production in the next few MY's.

I wouldnt call the Jeep brand total jokes, or the Chrysler 300's which were massive hits when they arrived.

Good point. And if there is anything we can take away from this, its that we can always count on Chrysler to back up their prior commitments.

That was one of the mandates the Obama administration put down, that Chrysler HAD to payback its secured debt. Which is exactly what Chrysler is doing. It also is required to pay back the 500 Million they assumed from OldCar Co., which is part of the bailouts.

By mandate the US govt. told them to do more with less, which is why you're seeing less "original" Chrysler designs and more reliance on incoming Alfa Romeo and Fiat cars. They also slashed Chrysler Group's advertising ability.
