Ok here is what you need on your list.
Quad Core, stay with Intel At least 6GB RAM Windows 7 Premium 64 Bit (64bit is the way to go since it can address a ton of RAM At least 500GB HD If you are a gamer PM me and I can give advice since I own a hardware review site. |

build your own or have someone build it for you. i hate dells and every other manufacturer of computers. you dont get the windows 7 cd, you get a dell copy with all their crap on it, are they still password protecting the bios?
since you're on a budget get a lesser rig made and just overclock it. i have a qx 6800 and i just overclock it from 2.93 to 3.5 ghz and it's plenty fast enough for me. I used to clock them to extremes for benching but this one is just a daily rig that has been stable for a couple years now i guess. edit: here is an aricle i wrote some time ago about the benefits of overclocking you may find interesting, or if nothing else educational http://www.cryo-laboratory.com/forum...rclocking.html
