"A bizarre spiraling light show over Norway has raised speculations ranging from a Russian rocket test to an odd meteoric display. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute remains unsure of the phenomenon's origins, but astronomers have said that it does not appear connected to the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights"

Sorry but it looks like a double-exposure of a blue telephone cord over a photoshop spiral against a black background. Or it's a picture of a blue phone cord reflecting in a window or someone's monitor/tv screen with a wallpaper on their computer or something.

That's a reflection of a phone cord; the light is coming from the opposite side of the supposed light source in the photo. Look at it closely; you can see the shadows under the coils. I'm guessing they just took the photo of the window or screen which showed the cord and a light in the ceiling behind them, then did a photoshop twirl of the light.

No, you are looking at the photo but not reading the story. Thousands of witnesses. Calls to Russian Defense Ministers. Short movies. I don't think it's a phone cord unless that was projected into the sky.

Edit: dammit, CamaroSpike beat me too it. I really am a window licker.
