And imo it's still a disgrace to have a Champion who is on NCAA probation.

The textbook violations happened under him and Shula. Wins were vacated under his tenure.

The people who caused it have been punished. And that's the whole thing about probation, you get a second chance until you mess up again. From speeding tickets, bad checks, to football. If it were bad enough they would have just suspended them from playing in it....but that just my opinion. My ex-wife of many years is a NCAA compliance lawyer so maybe i am looking at it from a different perspective...so much goes on with these schools that don't even make the news.

Don't worry about that. Nebraska has a better D-line than the cheaters, that Suh guy is the best defensive lineman in the country.

People point out Texas struggled against Nebraska, but forget the cheaters struggled against Tennessee and Auburn.

But they didn't struggle against Florida. Tell me how is the current team Cheaters or who on the current team has cheated. I dont get it?

They got a break for being Alabama. First off, they were spared the Death Penalty, even though they deserved it. The NCAA is just so hesitant to use it. Then while on probation for those violations, they got caught again!

And don't use the 'but they all do it' excuse. Remember, the Albert Means violations resulted in criminal convictions.

They got busted while Saban was their coach. And I believe he is still there. And they found the violations occured into 2007. So some players from that 2007 team are on the 2009 team.

Nebraska has Suh - 6'2 320 lbs.

Alabama has Mt. Cody - 6'5 380lbs.

Suh is more of a play maker, but Cody is SO BIG that it allows them to play a 3-4 and drop more men into coverage/stop the run. The defensive front 7 adv. goes to Bama.

That Alabama group was as motivated a group as I've seen in some time. They will win the championship because they will be better prepared, more motivated and much more physical.

Like I said, my ex brings those cases for the NCAA against schools. They all do something on differrent level that can get them on probation...deals are always being made. Well the horns are about to get whipped by some folks on probation...lol...but they arent cheating during the game...guess they better look at some film

Not the players involved and yes they got busted on Saban's watch the act occured before he got there..if you didnt drive a mustang you would have know that now is not the tame to make excuses for the longhorns upcoming loss.(THAT WAS A JOKE) Especially an excuse that holds no validity. If it did everyone would be all over it not just the Mustang Longhorn..lol

I'll give you more physical, but better prepared, more motivated? Listen, if you don't think Mack Brown will have those guys ready to play you are nuts.
He is a master and a damn good coach. This game will be won in the trenches and unfortunately for Texas, no matter how prepared or motivated they are I just don't think their O line can handle the Bama defense.

No one is making excuses. But if Texas wins, they are the Champs and not on NCAA probation. If the Cheatin Tide wins, they can't say the same thing.

And it holds validity whether people point it out or not. There were criminal convictions and NCAA sanctions handed out for crying out loud.

I don't think that Texas is going to be able to handle them. That said, I think Texas will do better against Bama than Florida did. Here is why:

Saban has never played Mack Brown before, and he doesn't know the Texas offense. He's going to have a harder time game planning for Texas than Florida, just based on their lack of previous meetings. We played Bama last year, and from that Saban drew up a killer scheme to go against us with.... but he doesn't have that yet for Texas.

That said, Bama is bigger and more physical. Motivation is there from the players and I do think they will be well prepared. The more I think about this, the more I think your right in that preparation will be about equal, but I don't see the motivation in Texas that I saw in Bama. A more motivated more physical team should come out with a win.

Football is a violent game. Generally the more violent team wins.

Ah, they got busted again while on probation!

Face it, they got off easy because they are Alabama. If someone like Central Michigan had done the things the Cheatin Tide did, the NCAA would have shut their program down.
