Neighbor has one. I don't think its 'bear rated'.

Any kind of hand gun will scare off the bear in 1-2 shots if they are close. Don't even have to aim it them, just shoot it in the air.

Well. I fly fish all over... Alaska, British Columbia, New England, Montana.... So probably both

Why do you want to kill a bear? I just don't understand. Hope you get him with one shot. Hate to see what happens when you piss that mofo off.

I'm not bear hunting... I'm making sure I can kill one if I encounter a problem.

seriously;
if cost is no option and it's gotta be a handgun, i'm also not an expert by any means, but i'd say .45 or higher calibre ought to do the trick, theres a number of .50 pistols out on the market as well. Desert eagle is obviously famous from popular culture, but i don't know enough about sidearms to tell you what's good and what isn't.

one note of caution fishing in BC, it's probably best to leave the pistol at home, could be some "legal implications" if wardens come around.

He was a ***** too lol. I coat myself in deer blood and put on a loin cloth and a machete when I go into the wilderness. Bring it on bears.

I read bear sprays work better than guns because of how many shots you need to take one down. But what do i know, i ain't picking fights with bears.

Maybe you can ask Jay Cutler that guy kills the bears all by himself.

And before you chime in Icky, No. Throwing Knives aren't going to work.
Desert eagle is way to bulky in situation like that. Honestly if you get mauled by a bear unless first shot is a kill shot you pretty much screwed. My advice? Don't take the bears fishing spot to begin with!

You know the polar bears are floating their way to NY on the icebergs that are breaking off due to global warming. They're going to seek vengeance on all you V8 driving bastards after sipping tea and eating scones with the Prius owners.

I can see that bear concept being a horror movie. I mean they did make snakes on plane!
