I don't know what the laws in Texas are like, but I know in PA it's illegal for local cops to use Radar, and quite a few times even State Police will use VASCAR/V-SPEC/U-SPEC, which are all basically the same thing, and the tickets are RIDICULOUSLY easy to get thrown out in court (since many times they can be off by as much as, if not more than 15MPH)
