Taken directly from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine:

Smallville is about to go where the Superman franchise hasn't been in nearly four years: to the movies! On Feb. 5 The CW will air Smallville:Absolute Justice, a two-hour TV film that will introduce the Justice Society of America. "We've done big episodes before," says executive producer Brian peterson, "but we've never done an old-school superhero origins movie." In addition to appearances by Dr. Fate, Stargirl, and Hawkman, Peterson reveals that "we will see glimpses of" several other DC Comics heroes. "I think [the movie] will be more than what people are expecting."

Smallville is sometimes good and sometimes annoying. I am an admitted superman nerd so I keep watching but how many good looking young people could have been effected by the meteor rocks in one small town? Its time to stop having a new "meteor freek" on every week and get into the main superman villians which they have done little with lately. I do like that they are slowly bringing in the justice league characters tho. Lois is seriously hot and worth watching the show for.
But when smallville came out, they said there would be no tights and no flying so it wouldnt be the same old same old but its time for him to fly as good Clark now in my opinion.

i heard about this and it looks like its gonna be awsome i cant wait- when does smallville start again?

i think green arrow is awsome- but i also think when they say no fligts no tights-they didnt think this show would go on for so long i mean take a look at all the other superman shows- dont think they went on this long- there gonna have to revise that quote- i dont know why they dont want him to fly=it would be awsome if he did

then i dont think its cgi-cuz they had all the other krypton dudes flying around in certain scenes- i would love to know whats the problem wit him flying- as far as movies go when he worked at daily planet he was already flying and had the cape and tights so i dunno

All his powers/flying scenes are done with CGI, which can be very costly, especially for a TV show.

yea but still-if the spend the money to have the others fly-why not give what the audience wants ? we gave them 9 seasons to fly thats good ratings man imagine what it would be if he flew

The other flying guys were only in a few episodes. Comparatively, if Clark could fly he'd to do it every episode. It wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for him to keep hyperspeeding everywhere if he could fly (imo). I dunno if that's the reason he isn't flying yet or not. Just a thought.
