no not really.

the M series is supposed to be the performance line for BMW. AKA. SPEED.

The Caddy is a luxury car with a substantial engine.

BMW's M series = Caddys V series.

so thats like saying the Camaro V6 will beat the CTS-V

and i think you'd have a hard time making that argument.

A stripped 135i manual is $36k. Loaded its $50k.

The M3 is faster at top end, after the 1/4 mile then the 135i, plus its computor suspension and throttle system is first rate. The 135i is more fun to drive as a daily driver, but the M3 is an awesome track racer. The 135i would need alot of suspension changes to get close to an M3 on the track.

Therefore, after owning a BMW for a year and a half you are a quadraplegic. Huh, no wonder all those BMW owners drive so horribly, I was wrong to judge them.

Coming from someone who currently owns, and has owned M series before, the new m3 is a dissapointment.

Um sorry I hate the new M3 as a track car but off the line there is no way a 135 will beat it stock. The new m3 does 0-60 in 4.1 without a tune. Many new m3 owners have got that time.

After seeing a special on the new M3 it was awesome. I haven't driven one. The last M3 I drove was a couple months ago. A 2004 M3 conv with 7,000 miles, nice car.

^1. because of that and......

OK my favorite car ever is a toyota Supra. And I had a neighbor that said that a M3 will kill a supra and he kept pissing me off about that. Its oblivious that an M3 doesnt stand a chace against a 2JZ-GTE TT but he insisted that BM's are the greatest cars ever. That and they're poorly made. but

my uncle paid 120k for a new m5 and refuses to think any domestic will handle aswell. "OHHhh yeah well any company can put a big engine in a car but it wont handle as well as my M5". he doesnt believe that the camaro ss is faster around the 'ring then his m5 with 80hp less. i guess i really get to embarass him when i beat him racing with him actually in the car.

Also people who have bmw's and claim them to be soooooo good are usually God awful drivers.

+1. All the more incentive I need NOT to buy one.

I've driven the 135i and 335i, the ladder on numerous occasions. While the engine delivers phenominal power the car always manages to never feel all that fast. If I'm going to be driving a performance car I want to feel the speed, not notice it when I look down at the speedometer. Smooth engine tuning is all fine and dandy, but what's a performance car that has smooth power delivery? NOT a performance car, a couch potato.

GTI's are doing well sales-wise it looks. Not nearly as cool as a MINI though.
