look how many times that driver hit the rev limiter and he even mis shifted a couple of times. that estimated time could deff be alot better once the driver learns how to shift.
either way its an impressive car

Yeah I can recognize the Viper is a great performance car, but I just love the Vette. Oh and thanks for that side-by-side, it was awesome to watch .

They say that driving the Viper is only a pleasurable experience if you like going fast. Other than that, it's a nightmare. I can only imagine what a thinly disguised race car would feel like. I like the Corvette, all 3 of them are amazing for their price. But the Viper ACR is a very fast car. And yes it is street legal.

What was up w/ the Viper and the constant revving problems? Hard to eplain, but almost sound like he was hitting a rev limiter....watch the shifter. It starts bouncing all over the place.

I'm not impressed and here's why: ACR stands for American Club Racer... that is the name given to certain versions of Chrysler products that are, basically, just race cars with working turn signals... the ZR1 has AC, the ACR doesn't... the ZR1 has a stereo, the ACR doesn't... the ZR1 has nice, comfy seats, the ACR doesn't... seeing a pattern here folks?

and ditto all of this for the GT-R... if Nissan or Chevy wanted to run a stripped down club racer around the track, they'd get times like that, too.

agreed... and it is a good time... but lets be realistic: are we comparing apples to apples? you must concede that this is not a fair race when you run a body in white, basically, and post times saying that its your "production car"... lol

lets be honest with ourselves here, nobody buys a corvette for comfy seats or a stereo. It is more livable than the Viper, but neither of them are particularly luxurious

well, nobody here does... but there are alot of people who do... you do realize that the Insurance Institute categorizes the Corvette as a "luxury car" and its insurance is lower than a Camaro or Mustang is, right? people really did complain about Corvette seats in the C5 and that's why the C6 seats are sooooooo much more comfortable... people complained, GM listened.

yup, I've mentioned that somewhere around here not too long ago. I've also heard that the PT Cruiser is a classified as a truck . . . not sure if thats true though. Anyhoo, if you want a car that is comfortable there's a hundred models that are cheaper but more comfortable than the either the Corvette or the Viper. If you want something faster than a Corvette or Viper, well the choices are rather limited.

Someone said they'd take a Corvette over the Viper any day of the week, and that is very true. The Viper is not an every day car, except for the truly hardcore. This is even more true for the ACR. But for a weekend track car it is better than a Corvette.
