4th gen: splash guard scraping everything. never being able to get in and clean the whole windshield. expensive headlights. cassette tape player (no cd, no mp3) and manual roll up windows. retarded dashboard.

My 78 scaring the crap out me the first time going around a corner in the rain and the rear end deciding it wanted to pass the front.
Oh and the windshield popping out on the passenger side.
Passenger seat bolts stripping and exwife ending up in the back seat...No wait that was funny.

Dennis Mecham likes to say they produced 400 of them during 1982. I personally know someone that has the Mecham plates from about 210 or so up to 300 something...so my estimate is around 200. Mine is a 2-owner car with 38k miles on her. I repainted it in the 1983 "warpaint" scheme that celebrated the MSE winning the SCCA championship.

Thanks for the compliment!

I really loved my 4th gen Formula 6spd car-no t-tops to leak...only "power" accessories were the windows and locks. Anyone care to guess why that car was ordered like it was?

Slap a set of 4:10s in the rear and put in some spherical end trailing arms and panhard...that girl would run!

To be honest, I've loved every one of my 3rd and 4th gens...they had their quirks, but I looked at it as "just part of the game." Surely nothing I'd say I hated or really disliked.

I'm a guy that doesn't mind harsh rides or low clearances though...so that may make me an exception.
