To add to these, the chase scene in "Short Time" was great. Lots of good action, and also really funny.

Smokey and the Bandit 1 - I still quote this movie nearly EVERY DAY. It was the first movie I ever saw in a theater - I was 6 - and have loved it ever since. Yeah, it was not as cool as Bullet...but there was something so cool as about having that Black Firebird lighting it's tires and shifting it's transmission 16 times per scene! And the Car-nage was hillarius!! Plus, who can downplay the rantings of Sheriff Buford T. Justice of Texas!

I agree! Even though the following movies were god awful.

Quote from Family Guy

Stewie: Thanks Bandit! Good luck tapping some of that...hot...hot...Sally Fields...tail.
Bandit: Shutup! I'm not happy about it either!

I like the transformers chase between the cop-stang and Bumble Bee. Mostly because of the symbolism of the classic muscle car wars.

As for my fav car chase fantasy...I'd have to go with ripping past Tag in a high speed pursuit on the freeway and after stopping, gettin a beer and talkin about how freakin cool that was. <sorry Tag had to pick you since I don't know any other cops >
