I've missed left turn lane lights because of people ahead of me taking too long to realize the light is green. I totally agree with Aby's complaint about rude jerks in the fast lane. I've seen more potential accidents in the last few years because of cell phone usage than I ever did before and I've been driving for decades.

It's against the law in California to drive with a cell phone in your hand but everybody totally ignores the law; they just can't live without that damn cell phone; and I'm sure those conversations are just SO important that it's worth breaking the law and putting lives all around them at risk. Seeing somebody with a cell phone in their left hand and a drink in their right hand and THEY'RE IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT just freaks me out.

I can invariably tell who is on their phone while driving......they are the ones going slower than everyone else around them, and when they do that in the left lane and don't care it's no wonder there is so much road rage!

People who are making a left turn onto a street that I'm on. I'm approaching the stop sign at the intersection, and they cut the turn too tight into my lane, and almost hit me head on, then look at me like it's my fault.

My wife who loads the toilet paper roll with the pull end against the wall, rather than having it flap to the front of the roll.

Standing in a store line in front of a woman who has tons of stuff rung up, waits for the cashier to tell her the total amount of the purchase, then and only then, begins to open her purse and start looking for the credit card or cash for 3-4 minutes....This is a big surpise?? You didn't think You'd have to pay?? You couldn't already have cash or card in hand?? Then if she's paying in cash, there's always the "I think I have the right change somewhere" and starts rooting through the wallet or bottom of the purse for a few pennies to pay the exact amount....which takes another 3-4 minutes.

Slang.

Which is made even worse by the fact that it is leaking its way into the dictionary. This years new words in websters include "tramp stamp" and "mcjob."

Yep. And you'll see the car suddenly weaving around or taking corners so ridiculously slow it looks odd and when you can see the driver it's because EVEN THEN they can't put down the damn phone long enough to turn a corner. Or you see them on the freeway waving frantically at people to let them in suddenly at the last minute because they waited until they were 20 yards from the exit before they realized they wanted to take that exit because they were distracted by the phone in their hand.

They could probably cut the budget shortfall in half if they'd just enforce the law and pull people over for cell phone use. They'd make billions in fines.

My BIGGEST peeve is people driving while on a handheld cell phone and OBVIOUSLY they can't do two things at the same time!! HANG UP and DRIVE OR PULL OVER !!! IF it were up to me, and thank god it isn't, it would be considered a JUSTIFIED SHOOTING in my book.

1320 Junkie:

To hijack my own thread: what does that tire say in your avatar? I can't read it!

Now back to your regularly scheduled weirdness.

(REGULARLY scheduled weirdness? Oxymoron?)

Just like you said " the little things." Is it so hard to say "thank you,"

when you hold the door open for someone? What about smiling when you

pass people walking by. It won't kill them! Just receiving a smile from a

person shows us that people can be pleasant! It can also

make your day!!

Bad grammar irks me, especially when it comes in a professional venue. I hate looking at instructions for something that was clearly not proofread. If you're going to publish something, it should have quality language on the package and any documentation.
