This is terrible....

You people are really getting on my nerves....being this far west means you have all retired for the evening by the time I get home....and it takes me 1/2 hr. to go through all the posts! (and it's not like I can just skip to the end either!) Message for Gloves: I really hope you're just talking smack about being crazy with a bike on the back roads...don't let me read about you in the Friday Funnies. Coasties gotta look after one another; yep, me too. D17 (dpi)....be good! I'll have to catch up with everybody later.

Whoa!

Dave, the only thing that keeps you up is your young age and a burning desire to better your education to make the money for a Camaro. Here's some free Old Timer advice; GO FOR IT WHILE YOU CAN!

I don't know about that! My dad is a night owl, (51) and my mom works midnights (only gets a few hours of sleep a day)! So I think its more than JUST the age. And I really don't have a burning desire for school. I want it to be over with already so that I can make the $$ already!!! I really REALLY REALLY HATE school!!!

But I will definitely go for the Camaro, prolly as soon as I get out of here! Or if I can find a way to get some good $$ coming in soon, maybe even go for it before I am out!

To me, school was the doorway I needed to live the life I wanted...granted, at the time, it didn't always seem so great, but I stuck it out and at 56, I still wish I'd gone on for at least a Masters....not that I would have gotten rich (no guarantees, especially today), but I've been really lucky having come from a poor midwestern farm family to where I'm at today (looong story!) School might be tough enough when you're young, almost impossible when you're working/raising a family and REALLY TOUGH when your brain shuts down at 5pm and the sack is the only place you want to be...only you hardly ever get a good nights sleep (old farts know exactly what I mean). You have the rest of your life in front of you, make the most of it! You won't regret it....you should ask some of the old farts what some of their 'memorable life moments' are; I bet you'd be amazed at what some of these dudes/dudettes have done, so pull up a chair and don't believe everything you hear!

Yea, I know school is the doorway to the future, I just want it over with! I have already done some pretty amazing things myself. I was a part of People to People Student Ambassadors during the summers of 2000 and 2001 going to San Fransisco for 2 weeks in 2000, and Australia for 20 days in 2001. I just finished interning at Disney from Jan-Aug, and am still employed with them seasonally. As far as the brain shutting down thing, my brain doesn't open until later in the evening, in the morning I just want to go back to bed! And I hardly get a good nights sleep as it is, I have a REALLY hard time falling asleep. Sometimes it takes HOURS before I actually fall asleep, but usually around 30-45 min. With the things I have already done, I AM making the most of my life! And plan on keeping it that way! I plan on moving away from home (South Side of Chicago) once I graduate, which that in itself is a HUGE step towards a better life than my parents, although now my dad is finally at a place that is not going to shut down anytime soon. He's worked at steel mills, chemical factories, etc. and everywhere shut down on him while he was there. This new place, ISN'T going ANYWHERE! And I do listen to what EVERYONE on the boards have done, not believe some of it, but MOST of it, and not just the 'old farts' either! I am an adrenaline junkie! LOVE rollercoasters, high speeds, doing things that are dangerous. I plan on skydiving this summer, maybe bungee jumping and I want to wear one of those wingsuits while skydiving, but I know you need to do a bunch of jumps before you are qualified to do those! But like I said, I just want school to be over! I don't like it, and want to move on already!
