I don't think that the NASA budget even come close to the other budgets out there. I agree that some money needs to be freed up to make changes, but throwing money at a problem is not the way to fix anything.

NASA's budget hasn't grown in 20 years but many of the other government budgets have tripled in the last 20 yrs and those problems have only increased. I won't go any further, because this will turn into a political arguement and that is a road to nowhere in one of these forums.

My point is sometime common sense and hard work will outperform just throwing money at a project.

Agreed. But for this topic alone, there is just a lot of waste. The moon stuff is what irritates me. I don't believe there is anything on the moon that's sooooo important that we need to spend money on it. Not right now anyway.
