LGR only assembles cars currently. Prior to '15 they only assembled Cadillacs. A $1.25 billion retooling budget for '27+ means they could do any number of things there. |

Nothing but passenger cars are built on that platform and at that plant. Literally nothing else.

We'll see.
The 6th gen was not a success with the broad audience GM are trying to keep, so if they release another "same thing, but more" car that we here all want, failure (in their books) is guaranteed. My hope is that first of all, there will actually be a Camaro and this isn't fake news, and second, they will fix the most frequent complaints (trunk opening, beltline/visibility, rear access/headroom, interior storage) while keeping everything we love about our 6th gen.

With Al Oppeheiser not at the wheel, it'll be curious to see what the next gen Camaro holds.

....I'm highly doubtful they're bringing it back as a 2 door V8, RWD coupe...especially since they killed it off as that.....hopefully I'm wrong.

I could have had a 2016 Chevy SS for $15k less then what I paid for my 2016 Camaro 2SS. The car was an absolute screaming deal. V8 Sedan with Luxury features for $35k-$40k all day long at the time. I suspect that there will be a 4 Door Camaro option - it makes the most sense given the current Alpha chassis and production capabilities of LGR. |

Since we can’t really trust Mary Barra and her merry band of misfits running this company I’m definitely not holding my breath until I see a two door coupe with a V8 and a three pedal six speed manual transmission.
Anything else and I would have is absolutely zero interest With Ed Welburn, Scott Settlemire and now Al Oppenheiser retired, the three men most responsible for the revival of Camaro in 2010 and protectors of its 60 year legacy are no longer there to stop any destructive madness from proceeding to production. Unless Mark Reuss puts his foot down. We shall see.

I hope GM is trolling us. We kind of expect something stupid like a 4 door or hybrid/ev crap. So maybe the "not what we expect " may be exactly what we want. A redesigned 7th gen with the Grand Sports new LS6. The Alpha 2 platform is a sedan but the 5th gen was a Zeta platform for a sedan and the 6th gen Alpha platform was the ATS, which was a couple or sedan. Im still optimistic, the 7th gen may be an awesome unit.

Another low profile coupe means you have to beat what, the Dark Horse Mustang? All that R&D and engineering money to be .35 seconds faster around a track against a car that is NOT selling well? The best case scenario is they build a car like the Challenger that didn't get invited to the track head-to-heads but sold well because it looked good and had tons of power. Meanwhile the market is wide open for a high performance Sport Utility Vehicle that's not built for hauling kids and not priced like a Denali. |

I won't argue the side of those who think it's a problem, I'm simply acknowledging their existence. It isn't just visibility out the rear but the "cavern" or "bathtub" feeling they complain about.
