How do I open the trunk/boot?

Hi Camaro team.

My partner has inherited a 1991 camaro rs. We are in the United Kingdom & it`s imported.

We are totally unable to open the trunk/boot on it, the switch on the centre console doesn`t work, there`s no lock on the outside to put a key into.

I know for a fact the trunk opens as I`ve seen it open, i just never saw how the previous owner managed to open it, as they`ve passed away we have no one to ask really.

Is there anyway we can open the trunk please?

Try this, start at 45 seconds.
I know the one in the video is an '88 but still may apply. He says in the video for the button to work the car must be off, in park, and the hand brake engaged.

Just FWIW you may want to check out ThirdGen.org. While there are plenty of 3rd Gen guys here, that forum caters specifically to '82 to '92 folks. You might find the info you need. Pic is my Dad's '85 Z.

If you only think you've tried it, I would go back and try again just in case.

Back when I had my '91 RS, I never used that button, I always used the remote.

I tried it again earlier this afternoon, it didn`t work, but then I found how to do it.

Thank you kindly for trying to help though.
