Most GM parts i get from the dealer are from mexico or random countries in Europe. It's actually pretty rare for me to see American parts for American cars.

Maybe the part number sticker was made in the USA.

lol. You could possibly be correct! OP, turn the part over and see if it is molded on there that it was infact made in USA.. A few items I ever bought that were supposed to be OEM were made in Mexico, or China...
