I like the PHX area, particularly the east valley. Sure it's hot AF 4-5 months a year, but the air is dry.
Check out Greenville, SC. I have family there and love the area. However, it's humid AF, rains a lot, and can get chilly during winter (from a desert dwellers perspective). Edit: Forgot to mention that Greenville and the surrounding area is twisty back road heaven. I stayed there for around 6 months when I had an ae86 corolla GTS, and the pleasure cruises were a 10/10. East texas has nice weather and it's out of tornado alley. It smells clean there. East oklahoma is the same just cooler temps.

Florida.
No snow and the system there is set up for retirees which is important as nobody gets younger. Might need to drop and LS motor into your Rascal to out run the gators and pythons tho.

that is why i avoid phoenix, too big for me, and super hot too. have you heard anything about the new developments up by catalina, north of oro valley? be even higher elevation i think. and less people i think. you still have your Z28? those look awesome! watched a few videos on them. it ride pretty rough on the street though? made for the track like the ZL1 1LE how is that 427 engine? nice i bet. all those northern arizona towns look like high fire risk, don't want to deal with that either lol. |

Oro Valley won't be much different from PHX area in terms of temperature, maybe 5 around degrees. It's a decent area, but it's been around 10 years since I've been there. The scenery is beautiful.
One thing to keep in mind is that Pima county is like the CA of AZ. As a result, Tucson area can be kind of rough; lot's of homeless folks and crime. Search "Nick Johnson" on YouTube. He recently posted Tucson and PHX videos. |

Oro Valley/Tucson is kind of similar to Scottsdale/Phoenix (more expensive city on the edge of a large metropolitan area). Phoenix & Tucson each feel like a sprawling metropolis because most of the land is developed between them and their surrounding cities. Phoenix is a lot larger. There's a lot of mountain towns but there's fire danger. There's more vegetation to burn the higher up in elevation one goes, for the most part. It's a real problem. Even a town like Cottonwood, AZ, which is only 1k ft higher in elevation than Oro Valley, has had fires. |

as of now i think dove mountain area would be top choice, I still have years until i do retire, but fun to plan ahead.
watched a few videos on dove mountain and looks nice from those videos. lots of golf courses, they say it is quiet there, nice homes. police are strict there. will be really nice in winter, summer probably not so much, probably have to stay in the ac during hot days. or a pool or something. |

Here in Finland, many people want to go to Spain or Portugal.
