I just counted 24 active spam threads. Some have been active for a couple days. There has to be a way to stop, or at least, make it harder to post these

I left the admin a post directed at him, and sent it in a pm, several IP addresses to block, as the vast majority of spam threads come from three or four IP addresses…

Yes, I continue to delete and ban them as I find them, or they are reported… I just will not let it go… Not yet anyway…

The message I left was a screen shot like those above, with the logged members and visitors… I spent a couple hours, and went through each name of registered members shown, and in the Mod Cp, banned each of them with a known IP address, or registration email addy. It was around 72 of 100 logged on… The screenshots above I could pick out 75% or more of them as being spammers, whether they have posted or not… We really do, a couple of us anyway.…

I would show the screen shots here except my typical “reason” for banning is outside the rules of posting… I list “Spammer A$$hole$” as the reason…

I haven’t seen the admin logged on in well over a week… Who knows… I understand life, but still…

I went through and counted the names above I know to be spammers, I got 82 of the names… many of them have already been banned, though I’ve no idea why they still show up… One at a time, two days ago, I went through that list like you posted, and banned 72 of them , many before they ever posted… I’m trying to keep up, but I have a life as do others, so I try to log in at least twice a day, in addition to the email reports you guys send, and clean them up…

Thanks for the help, and maybe someday we’ll get a better handle on this… I don’t care to lose my build thread, and I have lots of friends here… I ain’t giving up, not yet…

The ones with threads that were moderated so no one can see them will still show up. (not banned).

Sorry for dropping it all on you... I just had enough.

Many of those names I personally banned, perma ban, and deleted their postings…. Some of the names still show up… when I find the moderated threads, I go in and find the op and ban all of their postings… occasionally I can’t ban every post, and those I will moderate, and then try to get them one at a time… Sometimes t works, sometimes not…

It’s irritating when I log in and see 25 or more threads on one page “moderated.” It certainly takes the wind out of my sails for reading and enjoying the site… I wish deleting and banning was the preference over moderating…

yes, much appreciated what you guys do cleaning up the spam nonsense. I have learned a lot from this site and have made a few friends. I certainly hope it doesnt crumble and go down the toilet
