The mother of all flops incoming. I still can’t believe they gave it a fartsonic “exhaust”.

People spending $60-80k don’t want a cosplay musclecar with video game features. Who are they building this for?

Well at least this one will be an ALL ICE car!! No EV... Twin turbo 6..

The Charger Sixpack is no V8, but at least it's gas-powered
The Sixpack was originally expected to release in late 2025 with its two-door EV variant arriving in late 2024. Under the hood should be the twin turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six Hurricane found in other Dodge cars like the Jeep Wagoneer and Ram 1500. It is expected to make either 420 hp or 550 hp although concrete details, including its price, have yet to be announced.

Dodge discontinued their V8 powerplants along with the last-generation Charger and Challenger. If they've gone back on their word with the Sixpack's release date though, we wouldn't be surprised to see the V8's revival as well.

I worked at a CDJR dealership for a few months. What a joke. I wouldn't buy any vehicle from a Stellantis company.

We bought our 15 Durango brand new and got the awesome lifetime warranty that they no longer offer. If it wasn’t for the warranty we would’ve sold it already. Both motor mounts have gone out twice, the fuel pump and fuel pump ecu went out and the oil cooler went out also . . . and we only have 109k on it. If we didn’t have that warranty, it would’ve cost us between $9-$10k in repairs.

  • Word is the new 2024 Dodge Charger EV was designed with V8 swaps in mind
  • The news was revealed in a paean to V8s from Motor Trend
  • Also rumoured: the gas-powered Charger Sixpack is seeing its launch moved up

Freiburger: The new Charger EV, you can remove the batteries and a V8 with a rear-wheel-drive transmission bolts into the frame.

...this sounds like BS to me, but I'll LOL if anyone actually could do it.

I never liked the idea of paying a significant premium to more or less make a software change to bump up the boost controller. I think they stopped doing that on the Colorado and only offer the "HO" setup now. There may have been some other subtle physical changes with the RPO, too. But it still feels like paying to "uncripple" features that already there just to unleash performance within factory warranty limits.

How long before these are available for super-cheap leases? I don't see why there is such expectation for sales on these. More expensive and lower performing than a Tesla Model 3 Performance. Not sure who is confident in Dodge's BEV expertise, either. Still lots of V8 inventory lying around for ICE crowd.

I'll pass on the EV crap. I wont hole my breath, but maybe even GM will pull its head out of its rear and bring back not just the Camaro but the Impala too!

While I'm happy for them, I'm not optimistic about the pricing and demand for these. I hope I'm wrong.

It sounds like these are the same old Hemis from 2023/24, unchanged?

I am not wizard, but here is my prediction

They will be down on power vs the Hurricane and more expensive (FI vs NOT)
They will grab a short list audience and fizzle out due to the cost point and end game
They will be WAAAAYYY to much $$$ if they boost them for the glory

The actual fail was the Daytona is only slightly better than the current Hellcat. That Daytona should have came out of the gate running mid/high 10s and it would have sold a lot better. I mean it gets its ass handed to it by EVs for less money.

I know people will say "it is not about this or that!!!" but the fact is the Model3 and that goofy Hyundai are WAAAAAYYYY faster for less money.

Maybe Tim can turn it around, but I bet the cost of the turn around is now out of control

Carlos Tavares <--- was a complete clownshoes who wrecked that company, I am not totally down with the ins and outs might have been the one before but either way he hammed the nail in.
