Stolen from a Reddit thread, I agree with the bullets.

"So many huge blunders from management have completely soured the taste of the brand for fans.
  • Killing the Blackwing engine and moving the CT6 Omega platform to Chinese Market only
  • Killing the Escala concept TTV8 Hybrid in favor of $300k+ Celestiq
  • Not refreshing the CT4, only refreshing the more expensive CT5
  • Killing 7th gen Camaro, leaving Corvette as the cheapest performance offering
  • Ditching Voltec PHEV technology and claiming hybrids are not needed, only to backpedal this year
  • Claiming Silverado EV will start at $40k, only for the base Work Truck to be $70k+
"

Add me to that bullet list.

Canceling the Camaro - TWUCE - is an unforgivable sin. Queen Mary has destroyed any chance of me ever buying another GM product.

Meanwhile at Ford, Bill Ford jr just said the other day on Jay Leno’s garage that Ford is committed to the LONG TERM future of the Mustang as an affordable, 4 seat coupe with a gasoline V8 and a true 3 pedal manual - even if they’re the last and ONLY ones making something like it. .

I will absolutely buy a Mustang after the Camaro.

Watch the latest Jay Leno’s garage. He has Bill Ford jr on with the authentic 1964 1/2 Mustang Indy 500 Pace Car.

They discuss the history of the Mustang at length and Ford said Mustang is not just the part of FoMoCo’s identity but the identity of America. He said everyone at the company is fully committed to the Mustang as a two door, 4 seat coupe with an available gasoline V8 and a true 3 pedal manual transmission for the long-term future no matter what other manufacturers do (hint/wink at GM and Dodge/Stellantis)

He is my guy now. Queen Mary can pound salt.

To a degree, it appears many are planning to offer more hybrids while revising BEV goals until infrastructure has improved and consumer demand grows. The development will continue and the percentages will increase. This is just delaying the inevitable IMO.

Toyota never went full EV. They said from the start they believe hybrids are the future, not EVs and went full speed hybrid.

Ok, Toyota back pedaled on their EV plans, even as little as you claim they were

Actually, Toyota was one of the first automakers to pledge a zero emissions / zero crashes product strategy. Thing is, their approach to zero emissions has been hydrogen fuel cell, not battery electric. This article dates back to 2017, but they were talking zero / zero at least as far back as 2015. https://www.express.co.uk/life-style...t-Ride-concept
