I can't remove a stripped nut washer/bolt from underneath hood vent deflector!
I was trying to upgrade my 2022 2SS Camaro, with a GM Factory Style CARBON FIBER Hood Vent Louver Cover. One of the nuts is stripped on the small bolt. What can I do in order to pop the bolt off, without causing any damage to the deflector or the engine bay?

Well, carefully cut it off with an air cut off wheel or dremel. A metal blade in a Sawzall would do it too. You will probably mark the plastic up a touch, you could put some painters tape around the nut to try and protect the plastic.

Too small for a sawzall, in my personal opinion. That looks like a job for a dremel with a cut-off wheel.

Dremel cut off wheel, as others have said, or a multi tool. I find i tend to be more precise with that than my Dremel, but depending on the blade/amount of space you have to work with it might still be preferable to use the Dremel.

As an aside, I *love* the raised white lettering. Did you order a DIY kit for that? Even though my Camaro is black-on-black, I would be interested to see how the raised white letters would look. |

Is the nut spining on the stud or is the entire nut and stud spinning? If it is just the nut you will most likely need to cut the nut off or use a tool like this. https://www.amazon.com/Splitter-Sepa...cfe83d017&th=1
If the whole stud and nut are spinning you might be able to use a dremel with a cut-off wheel to cut a slot in the end of the stud. Then use a flat screw driver in the slot to hold the stud while you unscrew the nut |

If the nut is just spinning, attach vice grips to the nut so you can apply downward force while turning, and if possible a panel clip removal tool (something thin to fit) behind the nut to create a gentle prying downward force to hopefully engage the remaining lower threads, it’s a 50-50 shot |

All good information team. I went with a cheap three pack nut splitter. The nut and washer both spin. I've tried vice grips, and it still just won't come off.
