I know huh? I wanna move really bad, but I dont have the cash for a new places in CO and TX I was looking at online, well I do. But not enough to move all my cars, my tool boxes, my welders, safes, music equipment, pottery stuff, and etc for glass arts and knife making :(

Dont even get me started on my clothes, shoes, and hats.

I collect things too. Like said shoes, but also knives and swords, steering wheels, and wheels, car parts I break, I keep to try and make furniture with. My second Camaro was an 01 SS, motor croked, so it became decor for living room holding up a piece of glass waste not want not. But I reallyyyyy wanna leave cali. Work is also there, I'm not done with nursing

Why all the bells and whistles? My AR is simple, effective and I don't have to worry about turning my sight on, lol. And it gets thrashed about in my squad, and is flawless, as long as she is lubed, at the range.

I laugh when people show up for quals with EOTechs, not dogging them, fine sights, foregrips, flashlights, lasers rails everywhere and by the second day there isn't anything on the gun but the foregrip.

My personal AR? Armalite M15 flattop with midlength round foreend (longer gas system, easier on parts in full auto, added a pictanny rail for light/grip), A2 style front sight with Trijicon night sight, Midwest Industries flip up rear, noname vertical foregrip, Hogue grip, winter trigger guard, 2 stage polished match trigger, noname 3 point sling. MilSpec mags with MagPuls on them. It works, day or night.

I dont use a lasers lol. I just like the hold and feel of having forward grip, basic light, and one can always switch from the eo to without.

I actually got messaged on myspace, ganna go check out a LWRC pistol. Small, and this ones cheap. $1100. With magpul 10/20 mags with ranger ends, and etc. Im just ganna build another rifle during the week, screw it. Noveske lower and upper, and nit pick the rest of the details later. We are leaving here in a few hours cant wait to get back to cali and some sleep!

You're leo? If you are, whats your standard side carry? Glock? Ill be anxiously waiting Orange County Fairground Gun Show end of month, need to see what I can buy and scoop up for bargain

Who are you using for bags, pouches, clothing? Maxpedition? 5.11?

Some people shoot with all the bells and whistles. Everytime I go to the Sand Box, we kick down doors and run around with a Combat Load. Can't be over prepared, Optics fail... go to Flip-up sights or use sight over bore shots when u don't have time to use flip up sights. Foregrip lights, are for clearing rooms, also used as a reference point for shooting. Most people add stuff just for show. But if you have been using them on a daily basis, thats a different story. But that foregrip comes in handy when you're humping all day and carrying that f**ker at the ready. And sometimes have to use your none firing hand to do shit. As for stripping their weapon cus its too heavy during a heavy fire fight or on patrol? They have no idea how long the engagement/Patrol is going to be, you just have go with whats on your rifle. Most times you have no choice on your weapon weight but to engage and return fire. I've hump my gear another 15 miles after a 4 hr hostile engagement. But thats just me and you know who I'm talking 2, you 2 post above me. I don't f**k around when it comes to shooting my M-4 with all the bells and whistles. I will run with my FLAK, M4, 12 mags on my FLAK, IFAK, 3 day pack with a combat load. Do I sound pissed? Yea, I'm f**kin pissed cus it sounds like I was called out w/having too many options on my M4 and not knowing how to shoot it. My equipment saved my ass and other several times in combat. If you, 2 post above me never experience Combat in the last 6 months or in life, I would like to extend my middle finger 2 you.

Damn bro, chill out. My patrol rifle and I have indeed been in our share of danger, and no, I've not been in the sandbox. I have been in the projects many times.

Look again at what I have on my rifle. A foregrip/flashlight. I agree, the foregrip is a great piece, the flashlight is a requirement. You need a sight, you are taking longer shots then I ever would. If I take a 50yd shot, or longer, I'd better be able to articulate why. My work is all done in 25yds and less, in a typical scenerio, unlike the Sandbox. If a longer shot is need, TRT is called in.

Extend your middle finger all you want. In most cases, the bells and whistles are put on by "mall ninjas" and the like, who just want to be tacticool, not tactical. I'll gladly extend my middle finger back, that is until you actually read my post and see I wasn't calling anyone out, except those who have no clue how to use half the crap they put on their rifle and only put most crap on the rifle to look cool.

To the OP, yes, I'm LEO. My duty weapon is a 2nd gen Glock 22 with night sights and a Hogue handall. My ankle gun/off duty gun is a Glock 23 with fiberoptic nightsights, extended slide lock release and grip plug. My 23 has been "tuned" a bit, teh 22 is department issued and as such, is completely stock. I carry my AR and a Remington 870 in the trunk. Hopefully none will have to be fired in anger, but I know they will work if they need to be, and that's what matters.

My brother just got called back over there :( Afghan I believe? Well I am small, and not as strong as a guy would be hehe. I have a noveske ar pistol in CO, as well a piece by piece build at my parents house out in tx, in laredo. I usually had it slung around while riding on our property out there. That or used shotty with bargain bought 100 for $9.99 walmart shells for snake duty and shooting random crap.

But anyways, for my AR's bells and whistles are important. Better over prepared and never need, then need and never had at all. New EOtech 555 I just got earlier this morning is awesome hehe. But yah, both my dad and brother are Military, so was my grand fathers, both served on opposing sides during WWII. And every male in our family is serving or served.

Again, I am little so weight is a big issue for me, but I noticed weight differs from manufact to manufact, KD/Noveske lowers with a either a Noveske upper or Daniel Defense is relatively light for me, however stag and other dpms rifles with the super long rails, weighs on me. Also I have the little rubber inserts for my rails, those things cut up my hands after being at the range for a while! And having the ForGrip is handy, cause I dont have to worry about shredding up my hands.

What kind of gear did you wear? Eagle Industries? Maxpedition? etc? For pouches, riggings, etc. Just curious. Most of the stuff like my 5.11 pants I have to spend a few hours working on, since I am of small size, but I really like maxpeds pouches and add ons.

Are you guys using 1911s? Or what? Whats standard for sidearm? What kind of knives you guys using? How long ago did you serve? Sorry, just really curious! I always bug people who served or are serving

Oh what kind of stuff should I add in care package? Im already sending Rat Cutlery RC5, a Gerber LMF II. Whats not allowed? Besides obvious stuff.

Whats a good christmas present?

I thought you were LEO, you and my BF are the same

Have you ever used Magpuls but plate for the 9mm or 40sw mags? It has the weird little loop at the bottom? Kind of like AR mags with the ranger plate? I got a bunch of those in as well factory mags for my glockies from my grand uncle. I love the use of the ar mag ones, not sure how the pistol mag versions will fair.

Tuned? Whatd you do? What make is your AR? And I agree, alot of guys just toss on stuff for their rifles they dont need. It holds true for cars, and teeny bopper fast and furious kids. Well with car people in general. Alot of bias and what not too, alot of brand whores.

Since as I said I am small, I have to be weiry of what I put on my rifles cause I am not very strong. forgrip, the rubber inserts for spaces not used, surefire x300, eotech and normal sights. basic.

Mmmm I have a few remmys too, I remember the very first time I shot one, I kinda...well "moved" back. lol. To say the least.....freaking ay. lol. My fav has a heavy duty butt stock, pain compliance breacher head, custom pistol grip for my little hands, light mounted. Mmm a sling with food for my remmy, as well concussion ones on the bodies munition holder i got off cheaper than dirt for his side. I miss that thing. I wanna go back to CO.

But here in so cal, I have a cheapy 9 shot. modded with tid bits. Primarily I love my XD's. 40sw is pretty snappy though. subcom makes you take a double look at wtf? Suggestions on another concealed carry? Something small that can fit in maxpedition remora? Yes I have my CCW

Also looking at stunning options, as well.

What kind of illumination tools do you use? My brother got me a duty jacket last month, from 5.11 to use when Im working at the court house haha, it is so warm. Do you use 5.11? Oh, and what kind of ammo are you using? I've been buying up here and there where I can for PM Bronze, Federal.

Sorry I blew up, sometimes there are people that are operators or semi-operators of the AR-15. Its just that I have most attachments on my "off duty" rifle so everything is similiar to the issued one. Most of LEO are former Military anyways, but for those that never served, we all share the same common goal, protect the innocent, others, ourselves and America. Trust me, if me and you had an agruement but came under fire. Our little disagreement would be futile, cus now we have eliminate the threat(s). If we ever meet, I'll buy the first 3 rounds.

Hahaha I love the friendly swing and hit, then laugh and drink up attitude. Hahaha. Thats so awesome.

I understand what you mean. For work when I use a car, I have my many many many arm candys hehe. But when I ride a bike, be it ducati, suzuki, buell, or honda or etc. I wear maxpedition FalconII bag. Now not the same as your rifle, but I noticed I keep same things in them, from my concealed carry to magazines, my makeup and etc. Its whats familiar, its what works.

Btw, I love my bikes a tad bit more then my cars

Shhhh dont tell the cars they may not want to start lol.

What kind of rifles did you guys use? Whos the make? Whos the make now on your rifle at home? What kind of ammo are you using? I bought a crate from Big 5 yesterday of pmc 223's for $200. Pretty good price imo.

Also going to pick up my new XD40 subcom in OD Green/Black. Weird color combo I know lol. And a blade tech paddle holster for side.

What kinda carry case or bag are you using for your rifle? If you didnt buy a rifle off shelf, did you build yours? Whats the lower? Whats the upper? Sorry. Geeking out.

Are the LWRC rifles that different? The two I've built have gone together nice n easy, or at least the lower has, I've bought pre-assembled uppers for both because I didn't wanna buy an action block...

Either home rolled or some flavor of M193 for 5.56. 55gr @ about 3200 fps any way you cut it.

Haven't had a chance to break it in yet but the 6.8mm is going to be mostly home rolled with some Silver State Armory mixed in.

I should be able to load an 85gr Barnes TSX out to around 3200 fps in 6.8mm. And thats out of a 16" barrel...

No. Expensive. My wait period before able to take possession of one built rifle and one in pieces cause I enjoy assembly, uhg. Just very expensive.

I'm ganna have to cut back for a while on misc spending, I am going over my means just a tad bit ;P
