Which shows the 5.7 and a 6.4 for "beyond 2010"

It also shows the current engine line up:

Attachment 69560

Which shows everything from 1 of the 2.4s to the 4.7 V8 replaced by a single V6 model which will be primed for NA or FI applications.

Since these will be the only 8s "beyond 2010" and the slide show shows the development plan through 2014- I assumed that means the 5.7 will be in cycle until then. If they were going to dump the 5.7, now would be the time to do so. 13 engines currently reduced to 8- which makes sense.
So, this means that either they will drop the SRT Challenger, or put a 6.4l in it?

Where? Pic's?

yea im not seeing much of a dif either

God I hope dodge doesnt do that to the charger, it kind of looks like they took a dodge stealth and stretched it out and rounded off the back end. Similar to how a porsche looks like a stretched out beetle.

Look at the front on a 2010, and look at that one. Also in that thread, it does not show the rear, but on Mustangworld they have more pics from the rear, and its different, slightly. Minor adjustments for sure, but enough where people who enjoy Mustangs have taking notice.

Interesting.....

So any thoughts as to how they ''refresh'' the look of the Challenger aside from the 6.4L V8?

Get it off of the Charger/300 platform, personally i think the Challenger needs its own specific platform like Ford did with the Mustang, you just cant take a 4-door sedan, chop off two doors and call it a sport coupe, it just doesnt work, so lets see a smaller, 2-door platform to compete with the Mustang (not gonna say Camaro cause its also a 4-door platform) other than that i think styling is pretty dead on right now except the sides of the Challenger are really bland, like the Camaro's fenders and quarters are nice and aggressive but the Challenger's are just flat and blah, needs more in that area, also it needs the 392 Hemi in the SRT and the 6.1 in the R/T

Same goes for the Charger, it definatly needs and overhaul, its still living back in the days of the "wanna be GTO" back when the big three were just milking the names of old muscle cars with no bearing to styling or nastalgia, it needs to look like a classic Charger, it also needs more to emphasize straight line performance while the Challenger can be the handling car of the two

Also if the Challenger does get a new platform that opens up possabilities for Mopar to become my new favorite, we may have an outlet for new Barracudas and Road Runners haha...also people need to realize that the government doesnt have as much power over the muscle car market as you think, they may be pushing fuel efficiency but in the end supply and demand is all that matters, its still a business after all, also thats why we have the lower-end V6 models, to justify the V8s (the company's just need to reach an average fuel economy over their whole fleet, doesnt mean that all cars have to be 36mpg cars, you can have a 16mpg car being made just fine as long as you have 4 30mpg cars to back it up)...and sorry this was so much to read, LOL, please spare me the little Microsoft Word guy emoticon, LOL

Thats gonna be a mean 5.0 too, estimated at 400 horsepower but dont forget the Camaro was too and it ended up being 426 haha, all that in that light Mustang body plus you can get a GT premium for $29k with lots of bells and whistles (better keep a hanky though, thats not including on-screen navigation, *GASP!* -_-')...i hope the Challenger gets redesigned into a smaller, lighter, body and then they can bring the price down some to make it competitive, also i wish GM would have its own platform for the Camaro but meh its already top dog even with the lame 4-door platform, LOL...the Mustang is an awsome deal though, GT premium for $29k sounds awfully tempting to me, then id add a shaker hood and some Mach1 stripes >=}

I don't think the GT premium is going to stay under 30k with the 5.0L

And if I had to guess, the Challenger will get a new engine for the SRT, the R/T will get a 6-speed auto, and they will get a light interior refresh... I saw some drawings of a new center stack which might make its way in.

Yeah, i do also believe the 5.0 will up the price of the Mustang some, at least the first year when demand is high, also i think Ford might just keep the current engine in their GT and use the 5.0 to make a new Mach 1 or somethin. As far as the Challenger goes im talkin about a 2012 or so revamping, they'll do updates here and there every year but im really just interested in the bgi picture haha, like this year they added the push-button-start as an option on R/T cars as well as SRT and they added the option to completely shut off the traction control, very nice in my oppinion, especially for people who want all those nifty features while saving the $10k from R/T to SRT

On a side note i think its funny that people always complain about the Challenger's interior, i mean look at the classic Challenger interior, not only did it look almost exactly the same as every other Chrysler sports car interior (such as the 2nd gen Charger or Barracuda) but it looks extremely similar to the current Challenger interior, they just wanted to keep with that Badass menacing attitude haha, really i like the interior i just wish for 2 things, first they need Challenger-specific gauges (be it the same cluster or not i just dont like the gauges they have) and also they should have a color-chooser thing like the Mustangs have where you can customize the back-light of the gauges and ambient lights
